South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Ramora said at a press conference on the 21st that this meeting is the first G20 foreign ministers' meeting held on the African continent. The meeting discussed the global geopolitical environment and its impact, as well as South Africa's priorities during its presidency of the G20. South Africa has made "solidarity, equality, and sustainability" the agenda theme during its presidency of the G20. The meeting believes that the constantly expanding geopolitical differences have fostered an atmosphere of distrust, which may undermine the progress made by countries in addressing urgent global challenges such as poverty, climate change, pandemics, nuclear proliferation, and armed conflicts. Countries should take urgent action to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals. The meeting pointed out that ongoing conflicts are not conducive to economic development and the achievement of sustainable development goals, and sustainable investment in conflict prevention and peace building should be strengthened. The conference calls on all parties involved in the conflict to abide by international law and support efforts to achieve a just peace in the conflict area. The meeting reiterated its commitment to strengthening multilateralism and promoting reform of the global economic governance system, while calling for the listening of African voices and enhancing Africa's voice.
