He stated that in the next step, the Ministry of Commerce will further optimize work processes, strengthen reform empowerment, focus on publicity and promotion, and achieve greater results in promoting the exchange of old for new consumer goods. According to He Yadong, as of 24:00 on February 19th, 169000 scrapped cars have been updated nationwide since the beginning of this year. Over 3.97 million consumers have purchased over 4.87 million units of 12 major categories of home appliances for trade in, over 26.71 million consumers have applied for subsidies for the purchase of three categories of digital products: mobile phones, tablets, and smart watches (bracelets), and 647000 units of electric bicycles have been exchanged for new. Driven by the trade in policy, related industries have maintained a rapid growth momentum. Since the beginning of this year, the amount of scrapped cars recycled in China has increased by about 35% year-on-year, and the retail sales of new energy passenger vehicles have increased by over 20% year-on-year. In the process of work, various regions have adapted to local conditions, innovated work methods, and formed many good experiences and practices. He Yadong introduced that Hebei has established a cross departmental collaborative mechanism for exchanging old bicycles for new ones, creating a "one-stop service" for old car sales, old battery recycling, and new car registration to facilitate the public's exchange of old bicycles for new ones. Zhejiang encourages cities to independently increase subsidy categories and establish a "12+N" household appliance trade in system to better meet the diverse consumption needs of the masses. Guangxi has set up a new online registration channel to support businesses to apply online to participate in the trade in activity through the government affairs WeChat official account, so that data can "run more" and businesses can "run less".
