On the 12th, the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Rosamund Law, announced that the selection of volunteers for the 15th National Games Hong Kong Division has been completed, and the Hong Kong Division Organizing Committee will invite approximately 15000 applicants to participate in the training. Luo Shupei made the above statement in response to a question from a Hong Kong Legislative Council member regarding the organization of activities for the 15th National Games. She said that the organizing committee completed the volunteer selection process in January this year, selecting about 15000 people from over 30000 applicants to participate in the training. Those who complete all training courses will be appointed as volunteers for the Hong Kong competition area. She said that the volunteer recruitment plan for the Hong Kong region has responded well, with a recruitment target of over 10000 applicants selected. Luo Shupei revealed that the Hong Kong organizing committee is currently formulating a detailed plan for volunteer staffing, taking into account the nature and arrangement of various events, the number of participating athletes and spectators, to assess the need for volunteer services and the types of volunteer positions. She stated that all volunteers are required to participate in basic training and training related to service positions. The basic training lasts about two days, and the volunteer team leader will first receive about two days of advanced training in February, followed by general volunteer training in March. The 15th National Games and the 12th National Paralympic Games, as well as the 9th Special Olympics, jointly hosted by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, will be held from November 9 to 21 and December 8 to 15, 2025, respectively. The Hong Kong division will host eight competition events and one mass event for the 15th National Games, as well as four competition events and one mass event for the Paralympic Games.
