National International Development Cooperation Agency: China has provided the first batch of emergency assistance for the major earthquake disaster in Vanuatu

On the 23rd, Li Ming, spokesperson for the National International Development Cooperation Agency, stated that the Chinese government has provided $1 million in emergency aid to Vanuatu to support its response to the disaster and post disaster reconstruction. At the request of the Vanuatu side, the Chinese side has coordinated with local Chinese enterprise experts to conduct a preliminary disaster assessment, and the medical team assisting Vanuatu has actively participated in the treatment, rescue, and surgery of the injured in the area. It is understood that the Chinese Red Cross Society has also provided $100000 in emergency cash assistance to the Wa side Li Ming said. Li Ming stated that in the next step, China is willing to continue providing follow-up assistance according to the needs of Vanuatu, to help Vanuatu overcome difficulties and rebuild their homeland as soon as possible.
