On the evening of December 20th, the "Hehe" Uruguayan Art Exhibition grandly opened in Guangzhou. This exhibition brings together the works of four Uruguayan artists, Mauro Arbiza, Melissa Herrera, Adriana Arin and Lucianna Cirillo, and shows more than 60 unique artistic creations, aiming to promote cultural understanding and artistic exchanges between the Chinese and Ukrainian people through the artists' unique perspectives and creativity. At the event, Facundo Sim ó n Fernandez Guerra, Consul General of Uruguay in Guangzhou, reviewed the deepening bilateral relations between China and Ukraine in recent years in his speech. He pointed out that cultural exchange has always been an important driving force for promoting bilateral relations. The extensive cooperation between the two countries in the cultural field - including the establishment of the Uruguayan Literature Center, the cooperation between the Uruguayan National Library and the Guangzhou Library, high-level exchanges between Chinese and Uruguayan universities, as well as various cultural exchanges - such as Uruguayan literature recommendations, photography and painting exhibitions and video festivals, has greatly narrowed the distance between the two peoples. Consul General Fakundo explained that the theme of this exhibition, "Encuentros," has profound cultural symbolic significance. Encuentros "originally means" two or more things overlapping at a point, "and culture has the power to make this overlap possible. He emphasized that "art itself is a convergence point. The intersection of artists and works, the public and works, and different cultures are all manifestations of this encounter." The Uruguayan Consul General in Guangzhou, Facundo Simon Fernandes Guerra, represents harmony, calmness, and unity, while "harmony" symbolizes integration and union. This theme conveys the concept of seeking common ground while reserving differences and equal cooperation. Curator Alvaro Sigillo stated that this exhibition is not only a showcase of Uruguayan art, but also a form of cultural communication, hoping to promote deeper understanding and cooperation between the two countries. According to on-site information from Xinhua News Agency reporters, the exhibition will be held in Shamian, Guangzhou from December 20, 2024 to January 6, 2025. The beauty of soup lies in its diversity. Civilizations communicate through diversity, learn from each other through communication, and develop through mutual learning. This exhibition not only showcases the diversity of art, but also highlights the shared vision, unremitting efforts, and bright future of China and Ukraine in promoting artistic cooperation and cultural dialogue.
