What impact will internet memes have on teenagers? Nowadays, the Internet has become an important tool for minors to learn and live. According to the data, the number of minor Internet users in China has risen to 196 million, and the Internet penetration rate of minors has increased to 97.3%. However, the Internet is a "double-edged sword". While helping children learn knowledge and broaden their horizons, it also has some side effects. One of them is the impact of "bad slang". Relying on their virus like transmission ability, vulgar words such as "Shuan Q", "Duosun Ah", and "Chicken You Are Too Beautiful" have "invaded" schools, passed down orally among children, and even appeared in test papers and essays, already affecting the learning and physical and mental health of teenagers. Teenagers are in a critical period of knowledge accumulation and the formation of their values. 'Black talk and bad jokes' are like' spiritual opium ', which can lower their aesthetic standards for language and writing. In addition, some violent and extreme vocabulary can also constitute a negative value orientation, causing teenagers with insufficient discernment ability to blur the boundaries of right and wrong. Not long ago, the Cyberspace Administration of China and the Ministry of Education issued a notice to deploy the "Clear and Standardized Use of Online Language and Writing" special action, focusing on rectifying prominent problems such as distorted pronunciation, form, and meaning, fabricated internet slang and bad memes, and abuse of implicit expressions. To protect minors from the erosion of "bad memes", relevant departments should allow regulators to develop "teeth", strengthen systematic governance of harmful content, improve punishment mechanisms, and create a clean and upright online environment for minors.
