Strong Military Forum | Preventing Work Style that Detaches from the Masses

2024-11-27

Our army is a people's army created and led by the Party. Whether we can maintain the glorious tradition and excellent style of close ties with the masses is related to the survival of the army and the success or failure of the cause of the Party and the country. At the Political Work Conference of the Central Military Commission, President Xi Jinping systematically deployed six key tasks to be carried out in promoting political military building on the new journey, one of which is to "restore and promote the fine traditions of political work". To implement this important deployment, it is very important to firmly establish the views of the masses, follow the mass line, always sit on the same bench as the officers and soldiers to think about problems, and enthusiastically help them solve problems. President Xi Jinping pointed out: "The mass line is the lifeline and fundamental work line of our party, and an important heirloom for our party to maintain its youthful vitality and combat effectiveness." Adhering to the mass line means adhering to the principle of everything for the people, everything relying on the people, coming from and going to the people, and turning the party's correct propositions into conscious actions of the people. Looking back on our journey, our party has deeply rooted the mass viewpoint and mass line in our thinking and implemented them in our actions. We respect the masses in our thinking, approach them emotionally, and rely on them in our work, thus building the most reliable class and mass foundation for the party's long-term governance. In the new era and new journey, to achieve new victories and create new glory, we must follow the mass line and maximize the cohesion of the people's hearts, wisdom, and strength. Respecting and relying on officers and soldiers is an important manifestation of the nature, purpose, and essence of the People's Army, as well as a glorious tradition and excellent style of our military. The vast number of officers and soldiers are at the forefront of building a strong and prosperous military, at the forefront of military struggle, and are the cognitive, practical, and creative subjects of military construction. They are the most dynamic and innovative group in our military, containing inexhaustible wisdom and strength. Only by implementing the mass line, strengthening the relationship between officers and soldiers, standing together with officers and soldiers, wanting to be together, and working together, can we better understand officers and soldiers, serve them, and unite them, so that all the wisdom of building troops can fully flow and all the passion of building a strong army to win battles can be ignited. Political work ultimately boils down to the work of being a person, with people as the subject, people as the object, and people as the starting point and foothold. All aspects must revolve around people. Practice has proven that when we truly respect, understand, and care for people, the unique advantages of political work will be fully utilized; When we can truly cultivate, shape, and help people, the lifeline status of political work will be consolidated. All levels must make good use of the mass line as a family heirloom, adhere to trusting, respecting, and relying on officers and soldiers, organize and unite the vast number of officers and soldiers into a solid steel, and spare no effort to fight the battle to achieve the centenary goal of building the army. If there is love, the morale of the army will gather; if there is no love, the morale will scatter. Leaders at all levels should always be vigilant about the "biggest danger" of "detachment from the masses", adhere to viewing officers and soldiers with a perspective of trust, appreciation, and development, and work with a deep affection for officers and soldiers, reflecting care and concern in specific actions and details. Always keep in mind the hardships and sufferings of officers and soldiers, take the initiative to do practical, difficult, and good things for them, and effectively solve the problems that constrain and affect their combat effectiveness, such as their worries, concerns, and troubles. We attach great importance to the close relationship between officers and soldiers, as well as the relationship between soldiers, and cultivate a revolutionary friendship of sharing joys and sorrows and life and death together. We will consolidate and develop internal relationships of unity, friendship, harmony, and purity, and strive to gather a strong force of "life and death dependence and solidarity" in the new journey of building a strong military.
