On the afternoon of November 21st, the 16th World Culture Festival grandly opened at the Baiyun Campus of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. The theme of this event is "One World, One Family, Integration with Foreign Countries", consisting of three parts: a series of lectures on foreign cultures, a world food corridor, and a cultural evening party. Shi Youqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Cai Hong, Dean of the School of International Student Education, representatives from multiple countries stationed in Guangzhou, and representatives from multiple universities in Guangdong jointly participated in this grand event. At the opening ceremony, the traditional lion dance performance with Lingnan characteristics caused a warm response from the guests on site. Accompanied by the passionate sound of gongs and drums, the majestic lion dance jumps and rolls, showcasing its agile posture and vigorous vitality to the guests. Subsequently, Shi Youqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, held a red pen to add the finishing touch to the lion and announced the official opening of the 16th World Cultural Festival. Students showed their talents one after another, wearing national costumes to show their unique customs and food culture: Spring rolls in Vietnam, hand pilaf in Uzbekistan, coffee in Ethiopia, honey cakes in Japan, guacamole cornflakes in Mexico, and other delicious food made people gasp with admiration. The Chinese characteristic booth has specially set up a lacquer fan intangible cultural heritage experience activity with the theme of "Lacquer Charm, Charm, Inheritance and Craftsmanship", bringing traditional Chinese culture to the world stage. The unique intangible cultural heritage technique of using fans as the body, lacquer as the pen, and water as the ink has attracted many Chinese and foreign students to eagerly try it out. The colorful cultures of various countries blend and collide here, and cross-border friendships quietly heat up in a passionate atmosphere.
