The latest data released by the National Energy Administration shows that in October, the total electricity consumption of the society increased by 4.3% year-on-year. In October, the total electricity consumption of the whole society increased by 7.6% year-on-year. In October, the electricity consumption of the primary industry increased by 5.1% year-on-year, the electricity consumption of the secondary industry increased by 2.7% year-on-year, the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry increased by 8.4% year-on-year, and the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents increased by 8.1% year-on-year. According to the analysis of the China Electricity Council, China's electricity consumption presents four characteristics: the electricity consumption in the primary industry continues to grow, and the electricity consumption in the livestock industry continues to grow rapidly. The electricity consumption of the secondary industry continues to grow, with the high-tech and equipment manufacturing industry leading in the growth rate of electricity consumption. In the first 10 months, the total electricity consumption of high-tech and equipment manufacturing industries increased by 10.9% year-on-year. The electricity consumption of the tertiary industry continues to grow rapidly, the electricity consumption of the charging and swapping service industry is growing rapidly, and the cumulative electricity consumption of residents' daily lives is growing rapidly. It is worth mentioning that in October, the electricity consumption of the charging and swapping service industry increased by 44.8% year-on-year. Since 2024, there has been an accumulation of positive factors driving the economic recovery and improvement, supporting the increase in electricity consumption. Recently, with the introduction of a package of incremental policies and combined efforts, major economic indicators have further improved. In October, the added value of manufacturing industries above designated size increased by 5.4% year-on-year, 0.2 percentage points faster than in September. The service industry production index increased by 6.3% year-on-year, 1.2 percentage points faster than September, which is also the highest growth rate of the service industry production index since 2024. In October, the total retail sales of consumer goods reached 4539.6 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.8%. Wang Shuxiang, Vice Chairman of the China Electricity Council, introduced that in recent times, the country has intensified macroeconomic regulation, effectively implemented existing policies, and successively introduced a package of incremental policies.
