At the 2024 China 5G+Industrial Internet Conference held on November 19, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the List of 5G Plants in 2024 (hereinafter referred to as the List), and 400 5G plant projects from 39 industries including coal mining and washing, automobile manufacturing, instrument manufacturing, food manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, textile, software and information technology services were selected into the List. Wang Peng, a first level inspector of the Information and Communication Management Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced at the launch ceremony that this is the second time since 2023 that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has released a list of 5G factories. Compared with last year, the 5G factories selected in 2024 have a more balanced geographical distribution, wider industry applications, and deeper enterprise integration. Specifically, the eastern coastal regions continue to lead, while the central and western regions are rapidly rising; The distribution of 5G factories in the national economy has expanded from 25 in 2023 to 39; The integrated development of large, medium, and small enterprises has increased the proportion of private enterprises by nearly 10 percentage points; The cooperation between basic telecommunications enterprises and industrial enterprises continues to deepen, with over 70% of factory practices in ten major scenarios including equipment prediction and maintenance, production energy efficiency control, equipment fault diagnosis, and equipment collaborative operation; 400 5G factories have driven a total investment of over 22 billion yuan, with an average year-on-year increase of nearly 180% in investment for each factory. In recent years, in order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, conscientiously implement the decisions and deployment of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has deeply promoted the innovative development of "5G+industrial Internet", continued to implement the "tens of millions" action of 5G factories, and accelerated the construction of high-level 5G factories. Up to now, there have been more than 15000 "5G+Industrial Internet" projects and more than 4000 5G factories in China. 400 high-level 5G factories will be selected in 2024, and a total of 700 have been selected. 83 national 5G factory benchmark demonstrations have been selected, and the first five-star 5G factory has passed certification. The Chinese brand of 5G factory continues to shine, and the integration of real numbers and innovative development is constantly advancing. According to the "Guidelines for the Construction of 5G Fully Connected Factories" previously released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, during the 14th Five Year Plan period, we will promote the construction of 5G factories by tens of thousands of enterprises, build 1000 classified and distinctive factories, create 100 benchmark factories, and promote the deep development of 5G integration applications.
