Daocheng Yading Scenic Area is located in the southeast of Garze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, with an area of 32.44 square kilometers. It is situated in the eastern part of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, in the middle of the Hengduan Mountains, with an altitude range from 2800 meters to 6033 meters. It is a national nature reserve. Aden is renowned both domestically and internationally for its unique primitive ecological environment and magnificent, unique, beautiful natural scenery. It is mainly composed of three mountains: Xiannairi, Yangmaiyong, and Shanuoduoji, as well as surrounding rivers, lakes, and alpine meadows. Almost all of the most beautiful elements of the snowy plateau converge here. In 1928, American botanist and explorer Joseph Locke came to Daocheng Yading for exploration and stayed at the Chonggu Temple at the foot of the snow capped mountains. After returning to China, he wrote an article in National Geographic magazine and published the photos he took, introducing Aden to the world for the first time, making Daocheng Aden an ideal destination for explorers and travelers from all over the world. In late autumn, Aden is colorful, with a deep blue sky and colorful autumn leaves on the valley. Strolling through the Luorong cattle farm, several winding streams sway like ribbons on the grassland. However, in the past tourism development that lacked protection awareness, these Tibetan style residential buildings have lost their original natural style. In 2022, Sichuan Province launched the Yading Village Rescue Protection and Restoration Project. For the "black houses" with strong Aden characteristics, the government adheres to the concept of "restoring the old as old" and the principle of "minimal intervention, maximum restoration of traditional style" to carry out unified style, zoning and grading restoration of residential buildings in Aden Village. Planting suitable plants and shrubs on slopes with different slopes and lighting conditions in a "quasi natural" manner for ecological restoration. At the same time, the village also organized villagers to restore farmland and repair broken embankments. We completed 398 acres of vegetation greening and ecological restoration on both sides of more than ten kilometers of roads in five months, and planted over 100000 new seedlings Yao Xinrui, engineer of the Yading Village Protection and Restoration Project of China Construction Eighth Engineering Division, introduced. Nowadays, upon entering Yading Village, one can see scattered "black Tibetan houses" with distinct ethnic characteristics on the mountainside. The village has developed new formats such as hotels, homestays, restaurants, art galleries, and the Shambhala Cultural Museum based on the scenic area. Modern facilities such as dispersed oxygen supply and centralized heating are fully equipped. Previously, only in summer could we do tourism business.
