Since the opening of the Keketuohai International Ski Resort in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on October 20th, many ski resorts in northern China have opened their doors to welcome visitors. From November 9th to 14th, Jilin Beidahu Ski Resort will offer free trial skiing activities, and it will officially start operating on November 15th. As a popular tourist destination last winter, Harbin in Heilongjiang Province also has new highlights this winter. The 9th Asian Winter Games, which will open on February 7, 2025, is another major comprehensive international ice and snow sports event hosted by China after the Beijing Winter Olympics. It is also the second time Harbin has hosted the Asian Winter Games since 1996. Starting from November, Harbin City will hold a series of Asian Winter Games test events as well as national and provincial competitions to promote travel through competitions. The relevant person in charge of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Liaoning Province introduced that Liaoning will strengthen communication and liaison with provinces such as Jilin and Heilongjiang, deeply explore the characteristics of "popular ice and snow+characteristic hot springs" resources, create a batch of high-quality ice and snow tourism products and routes, strengthen the brand of "playing ice and snow and soaking in hot springs to celebrate the New Year in Liaoning", and continuously improve the quality of tourism services. In the new ice and snow season, Heilongjiang will enrich the "ten" theme routes, "one hundred" food feasts, "one thousand" cultural and tourism events, and "ten thousand" Longjiang good goods full chain product supply, fully promoting the "hundred day action" of winter ice and snow tourism, striving to leave tourists with a unique and charming "Longjiang impression" and unforgettable memories of the Asian winter. Altay Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region will be committed to building an international ice and snow tourism resort, introducing an international standard skiing teaching system in the three major skiing resorts, and striving to expand the international "friend circle" of ice and snow tourism. The southern region is also experiencing a surge in ice and snow tourism. In the past, due to natural conditions and other factors, the population participating in ice and snow sports was mainly concentrated in northern regions. With the advancement of ice and snow sports, the ice and snow economy in the southern region is gradually heating up. The recent grand opening of the Wuhan Urban Construction Hot Blooded Miracle Indoor Ski Resort in Hubei Province is a microcosm of the "ice and snow fever" in the southern region. Liupanshui, Guizhou is also an important destination for skiing in the southern region. In recent years, three low latitude and high-altitude outdoor ski resorts, Meihua Mountain, Yushe, and Wumeng, have been built. During the 2023 to 2024 skiing season, the three ski resorts have received a total of 202500 visitors in the scenic area. The Xiling Snow Mountain, located in Dayi County, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, is only 95 kilometers away from Chengdu. The total area of the scenic spot is 375 square kilometers, and the highest peak, Daxuetang, is covered with snow all year round. In recent years, scenic spots have focused on creating high-quality ice and snow tourism projects, making ice and snow sports the core content of winter tourism. It is reported that the Xiling Snow Mountain Ski Resort has built 7 ski slopes, which can accommodate more than 2000 people skiing at the same time, becoming an important base for the development of ice and snow sports in the south.
