In the laboratory, Professor Wang Meng's team from Sun Yat sen University showed reporters a black material rod - a single crystal sample of high-temperature superconducting new material. This new material has great potential. There is no mature theoretical guidance for high-temperature superconductivity research, and there is significant uncertainty. No one knows where the endpoint is, if they do, we can design a path to reach it, but basic research is about unlocking the unknown, and the unknown is full of uncertainty, "said Wang Meng. Faced with uncertainty, Professor Wang Meng's team went against the current and gradually explored the growth conditions of high-quality single crystal samples, and discovered their high-temperature superconductivity. In July 2023, the scientific achievements led by Professor Wang Meng's team were published in the journal Nature. This is a brand new high-temperature superconducting system discovered by Chinese scientists worldwide, and the second unconventional superconducting material discovered by humans in the liquid nitrogen temperature range. It is a breakthrough in the field of basic research from 0 to 1. At Sun Yat sen University, "from 0 to 1" is not uncommon. Professor Zhang Hongbo's research group has published the first single-cell spatiotemporal map of human limb development in the journal Nature. Professor Shi Mang's team collaborated with the Alibaba Cloud team to successfully conduct the largest RNA virus research to date, exploring new paths in virology research. Professor Zheng Zhikun's team has successfully prepared woven grain boundary polymer porous membrane, which is expected to expand the application of crystal membrane in separation, optoelectronics, flexible devices and other fields...
