Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education officially announced 93 pilot projects and 44 national typical projects for the "5G+Smart Education" application, actively promoting the large-scale development of smart education applications. Accelerating the construction of a strong education country and promoting digitalization of education are important contents. General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out that digitalization of education is an important breakthrough for China to open up a new track for educational development and shape new advantages in educational development. Currently, the continuous development of smart education is driving a deep transformation of traditional educational thinking, breaking the rigid and one-dimensional thinking mode of traditional education, and achieving continuous optimization of educational methods, modes, and learning methods. Smart education is a dialectical inheritance and upgraded development of traditional education, which not only includes the student-centered concept of traditional education, but also reflects new thinking of personalized learning, promoting educational equity, cultivating innovative spirit and practical ability. The rapid development of smart education has transformed the transmission of knowledge towards multidimensionality and interaction, providing learners with vivid and intuitive learning experiences. To promote the deep integration of smart education and traditional education, we need to use smart education platforms as a connecting bridge, promote the establishment of new learning cooperation mechanisms, and further comply with the development laws of education and the growth laws of learners. Smart education has created an unprecedented collaborative, collaborative, and intelligent learning environment, establishing multi-directional and diverse learning relationships between educators and learners, and between learners themselves. Learners not only receive systematic educational guidance, but also can assist and support each other with other learning partners. At the same time, smart education leverages the advantages of digital technologies such as the Internet of Things and big data to promote the digitization, informatization, and intelligent transformation of educational methods. This year, the 84th China Education Equipment Exhibition was held, featuring numerous smart education tools and devices. The application of related technological equipment will promote the transformation and upgrading of traditional education. To promote the deep integration of smart education and traditional education, it is necessary to create large-scale personalized education scenarios based on knowledge graphs, intelligent recommendation technology, and smart education equipment, promote the integration of traditional classroom teaching with "handheld teaching" and practical teaching, and better enable educators, learners, and teaching resources to achieve cross time and space communication and interaction. In the rapidly changing educational environment, smart education can more accurately capture the demands and changes of educators and learners, and give birth to a technology-based education model that covers all fields, elements, and processes. For example, in the process of building a digital education environment, Nanchang University adheres to the dual wheel drive of technological innovation and model innovation. By introducing technologies such as cloud computing and artificial intelligence, it creates a smart campus cloud platform and data center to achieve efficient management of campus resources. At present, all classrooms are equipped with interactive touch screen displays or high-definition projection devices and centrally controlled and managed. More than 80% of classrooms are equipped with high fidelity and non sensory sound amplification systems. By building a digital teaching resource and service platform, more than 90% of undergraduate classroom teaching has been recorded and played back regularly. To promote the deep integration of smart education and traditional education, we must adhere to empowering traditional education with digital technology, enabling digital podiums, digital offices, smart teaching and research to serve the innovation and upgrading of traditional education, and opening up broader space for the integration of smart education and traditional education. With the implementation of the national education digitization strategy, China's education digitization has achieved positive results, the construction of the national smart education public service platform has accelerated, and the empowerment of education and teaching by big data has been further strengthened. In January 2024, the international version of China's National Smart Education Public Service Platform was officially launched. The platform supports six languages including Chinese, English, French, and Russian, promoting the widespread sharing of digital education resources such as employment, exams, and study abroad. This has effectively promoted the practical experience of integrating smart education with traditional education in China, providing new carriers and opportunities for more countries to achieve personalized and lifelong learning for all. To promote the deep integration of smart education and traditional education, we need to accelerate the implementation of large-scale education system artificial intelligence big model application demonstration actions. Through international exchanges and cooperation in smart education, we will contribute more Chinese wisdom and solutions to the global digital transformation of education, making the integration of smart education and traditional education a common action of world education reform.
