During autumn and winter, many patients with allergic rhinitis (AR) may experience symptoms such as nasal congestion, runny nose, and sneezing. Epidemiological surveys have shown that the incidence of allergic rhinitis has significantly increased in recent years, with some countries and regions having a prevalence rate as high as 40%. Recently, a press conference on the treatment concept of "initial strong control" for moderate to severe AR was held in Changchun, Jilin Province. Most of the patients who seek medical treatment are those with moderate to severe allergic rhinitis. They often only seek medical attention when symptoms such as sneezing and runny nose are more severe, and they hope to be cured immediately. However, allergic rhinitis is a chronic disease that cannot be eradicated and can only be controlled, "said Wang Dehui. Faced with the difficulty of treating moderate to severe allergic rhinitis and the difficulty of quickly controlling symptoms, experts have proposed the treatment concept of "starting with strong control". Professor Cheng Lei from the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University introduced that when patients seek medical treatment, doctors should use the most effective drugs to quickly alleviate the condition and control symptoms in the shortest possible time. The concept of "starting with strong control" will help gradually change traditional treatment methods, not only helping patients quickly relieve symptoms, but also enhancing patient confidence and treatment compliance, creating conditions for long-term management in the future. During the interview, experts unanimously called for the promotion of the "starting strong control" treatment concept, strengthening interdisciplinary cooperation and scientific research platform construction, improving policy guidance and social support system, in order to effectively address the challenges of preventing and treating allergic rhinitis, and improve patients' treatment experience and quality of life.
