Admitting an orthopedic patient who meets the conditions for launching a cross-border ambulance and needs to be transferred to Hong Kong for treatment. "The Emergency Department of the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital contacted the Tuen Mun Hospital in Hong Kong. After data matching, patient information verification, personnel clearance and other processes, an ambulance departed from the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital at 14:47 and 52 minutes later, directly transferred the patient to Tuen Mun Hospital in Hong Kong. This is the scene of the second cross-border ambulance drill between Guangdong and Hong Kong on October 31st. The trial plan for cross-border direct ambulance service between Guangdong and Hong Kong will be officially launched in November. The trial plan for cross-border direct ambulance service between Guangdong and Hong Kong is jointly led by the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, the Shenzhen Municipal Health Commission, and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Medical and Health Bureau, with multiple departments from Guangdong and Hong Kong working together to promote it. The ambulances participating in this exercise have obtained the quota for cross-border ambulances between Guangdong and Hong Kong, and are allowed to travel between Shenzhen and Hong Kong while holding the "dual license plate". Deng Linfeng, the full-time deputy secretary of the joint party committee of private hospitals and health organizations of the Guangdong Provincial Health Commission, stated that the launch of cross-border direct ambulance services in Guangdong and Hong Kong is an important measure to implement the Development Plan Outline of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. After years of unremitting efforts in both places, substantial progress has been made. This drill is based on the final comprehensive deduction of the actual situation, and the trial plan is about to be implemented to provide more convenient, high-quality and efficient medical transportation services for residents in both places. The Secretary for Medical and Health Services of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Lu Chongmao, stated that with the joint efforts of all parties, the mechanism and process of cross-border ambulance direct transportation in the Greater Bay Area have been roughly finalized. He is confident that the pilot plan can be implemented next month, providing "point-to-point" transportation arrangements between hospitals for patients with specific clinical needs. At that time, medical cooperation in the Greater Bay Area will be further enhanced to more effectively, timely, and conveniently safeguard the health and safety of citizens. The plan is to expand cooperation to other mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area in the next step. The pilot plan will first implement a direct ambulance service from the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital to transport patients point-to-point to designated public hospitals in Hong Kong, that is, the transfer between hospitals in the two places. The condition for activating cross-border ambulances is to reach a consensus between the University of Hong Kong Shenzhen Hospital and designated public hospitals in Hong Kong, prioritizing the medical needs, safety, and interests of patients while preventing abuse. Guangdong and Hong Kong will discuss the next steps to expand the scope of designated hospitals and further promote the "soft connectivity" of medical cooperation in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area based on the effectiveness and operational experience of the pilot plan.
