According to the website of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission, on October 28th, the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission released a summary of the nationwide investigation and punishment of violations of the spirit of the Central Eight point Regulation in September 2024. In that month, a total of 22313 violations of the spirit of the Central Eight point Regulation were investigated and dealt with nationwide, with 31614 people criticized, educated, and dealt with. Among them, 22475 people were disciplined by the Party and government, marking the 133rd consecutive month of monthly report data being released. From the perspective of the types of problems investigated and dealt with, in terms of fulfilling duties, serving economic and social development, and protecting the ecological environment, failure to take responsibility, inaction, disorderly behavior, and false behavior seriously affected high-quality development. In September, a total of 9954 problems were investigated and dealt with, accounting for 88.8% of the total number of formalism and bureaucracy problems investigated and dealt with that month. In September, three types of issues were investigated and dealt with: illegal collection and delivery of precious specialties and gifts, illegal eating and drinking, and illegal distribution of subsidies or benefits, accounting for 50.1%, 22.7%, and 15.3% of the hedonism and extravagance issues investigated and dealt with that month, respectively. From the level of investigation and punishment, in September, a total of 1 provincial and ministerial level leading cadre issue, 62 prefecture level leading cadre issues, 1148 county-level leading cadre issues, and 21102 township level and below cadres issues were investigated and punished nationwide. Among them, the problems of township level and below cadres accounted for 94.6% of the total number of issues investigated and dealt with. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Commission for Discipline Inspection requires effective prevention and control of hidden mutations, precise detection and strict handling of "express delivery and gift giving", as well as the use of public funds for tourism under the guise of training and party building activities. Disciplinary inspection and supervision organs at all levels should carefully analyze and study the patterns and characteristics of hidden variations and transformations of the "four winds", starting from hidden behaviors in places, funds, channels, etc., strictly investigate violations of discipline against the wind, increase publicity and exposure, and prevent a resurgence. We should closely integrate the investigation and handling of problems with promoting deepening reform, improving systems, and optimizing governance, and focus on eradicating the soil of hidden variations in the "four winds" from the institutional mechanism.
