The Guangdong Provincial Government Information Office held a press conference on the 24th to introduce that the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, together with the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the Macao Special Administrative Region Government, will hold the 2024 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Global Investment Promotion Conference in Guangzhou on November 8th. It has attracted representatives from foreign business associations such as the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China, and the American Chamber of Commerce in South China, as well as representatives from numerous Fortune Global 500 companies and industry leaders. Zhang Jinsong, Director of the Department of Commerce of Guangdong Province, introduced that the previous two sessions of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Global Investment Promotion Conference had fruitful results and solid project progress. A total of 853 investment and trade projects were signed at the 2022 China Merchants Conference, including 731 investment projects with a total investment of 1.81 trillion yuan. Currently, 567 investment projects have started construction, with a construction rate of 77.6%; At the 2023 China Merchants Conference, a total of 859 investment and trade projects were signed, including 824 investment projects with a total investment of 1.63 trillion yuan. Currently, 643 investment projects have started construction, with a construction rate of 78.0%. This year's investment promotion conference has attracted the attention of the global business community, especially in the field of new quality productivity, where enterprises are actively registering, involving industries such as artificial intelligence, low altitude economy, new energy storage, biomedicine, high-end equipment, and clean technology. More than 430 representatives from Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders such as ExxonMobil, BASF, and Tesla have confirmed their attendance. The conference will be held in the form of a "1+9+N" series of activities. In addition to one home event, nine Pearl River Delta city investment promotion conferences will also be arranged, as well as year-round investment promotion conference roadshows and various economic and trade exchange activities held by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao both domestically and internationally. The home event will release the top 100 foreign-funded enterprises in Guangdong for the first time, showcasing the development achievements of foreign-funded enterprises in Guangdong and enhancing the global investment destination image of the Greater Bay Area.
