The integration of vehicle, road, and cloud accelerates multi-party collaboration to explore new commercial ecosystems

The process of "vehicle road cloud integration" is accelerating again. Recently, 20 pilot cities for the integration of intelligent connected vehicles with vehicle, road, and cloud have jointly issued a joint action declaration for the integration of intelligent connected vehicles with vehicle, road, and cloud. They will accelerate the application of connected vehicles, jointly build industrial ecosystems, and support local platforms to cooperate with multiple entities such as car companies, communication operators, travel service providers, and technology companies to explore emerging industrial operation models and form a new commercial ecosystem of mutual integration, symbiosis, and benefit sharing. In addition, several pilot cities such as Wuxi, Suzhou, and Ordos are also actively exploring the commercial implementation model of "vehicle road cloud integration". Industry insiders say that "vehicle road cloud integration" has a very broad development prospect and potential. By strengthening the exploration of business model implementation, its development vitality will be further stimulated. In July of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and other departments announced the list of pilot cities for the "vehicle road cloud integration" application of intelligent connected vehicles, with 20 cities in China selected. Gong Weijie, Deputy Secretary General of the China Society of Automotive Engineers and Secretary General of the China Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry Innovation Alliance, pointed out that the development of "vehicle road cloud integration" is the only way to achieve high-level autonomous driving. However, the current pilot scale is small and the business model is unclear, which hinders the promotion of "vehicle road cloud integration". It is necessary to continuously expand the pilot scale at different levels and explore application scenarios to empower the high-quality development of "vehicle road cloud integration". The reporter learned that many representatives of pilot cities and related enterprises are also actively exploring the new commercialization model of "vehicle road cloud integration". Hua Xianping, Chairman of Wuxi Checheng Zhilian Technology, stated that Wuxi is promoting the application of "vehicle road cloud integration" in fields such as autonomous driving, intelligent transportation, and industry big data by integrating various resources. By building a city level cloud control platform, data aggregation and processing are achieved, providing strong data support for intelligent driving. We are currently investing 50 unmanned micro buses in the entire Economic Development Zone. Through technologies such as vehicle road coordination, we have introduced road test data into the decision-making control of bus autonomous driving, achieving fully unmanned public transportation. And not limited to traditional fixed stations, we have also launched shared and dedicated buses, allowing buses to enter communities, scenic areas, and parks, achieving point-to-point services and greatly alleviating the problem of residents' last mile transportation. In the future, we plan to further expand the pilot scale and promote the application of 'vehicle road cloud integration' in the field of public transportation Hua Xianping said. At present, our 'Vehicle Road Cloud Integration' project is being applied well. Taking the Suzhou pilot project as an example, high-quality data formed based on the 'vehicle road cloud integration' infrastructure can empower L2 autonomous vehicles without any perception devices to achieve L4 autonomous driving. This also forms the basis of business closed loop. We believe that the future 'vehicle road cloud integration' profit model will be diversified, including the provision of edge computing, content services, traffic and other government departments' data service governance, as well as data training services for car enterprises and autonomous driving enterprises. It can also provide the overall solution of intelligent transportation and the on-board terminal of software and hardware integration. " Zhao Jianjun, Executive Vice General Manager of China Telecom Tianyi Transportation Technology Co., Ltd., mentioned. In the field of long-distance road transportation with high operating costs, "vehicle road cloud integration" has received special attention. Chen Hongjun, General Manager of the Ordos Intelligent Connected Vehicle Innovation Center, stated that the transportation costs of heavy-duty trucks and mining vehicles continue to rise, making the application of autonomous heavy-duty trucks and mining trucks in bulk freight scenarios in Ordos very realistic. Erdos has the largest demand for commercial vehicle transportation capacity in the country, with 330000 heavy-duty trucks being transported online throughout the year. At the same time, the road environment is relatively simple, and starting from commercial and mining vehicles to cultivate 'vehicle road cloud integration' unmanned driving applications can quickly achieve commercial closure and have considerable profit margins. Wei Junqing, CEO of Carl Power, also told reporters that large freight vehicles have long bodies and heavy loads, and single vehicle sensing equipment is difficult to meet the requirements of complex road conditions for autonomous driving. The 'vehicle road cloud integration' combined with roadside sensing equipment has brought solutions to these problems. Therefore, we are also very optimistic about the commercial application of 'vehicle road cloud integration' in Ordos and other places, and are closely cooperating with local exploration and testing to lay a good foundation for the further large-scale landing of 'vehicle road cloud integration'. Relevant research shows that the market prospects of 'vehicle road cloud integration' are broad. According to the report "Prediction of Incremental Output Value of 'Vehicle Road Cloud Integration' Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry" released by organizations such as the China Association of Automotive Engineers, by 2030, the incremental output value of the 'Vehicle Road Cloud Integration' intelligent connected vehicle industry will be 2.58 trillion yuan. As for how to further promote the implementation of "vehicle road cloud integration", Wu Hequan, academician of the CAE Member and director of the expert advisory committee of the China Internet Association, proposed that intelligent connected vehicles and new energy vehicles complement each other, and the Internet of Vehicles has become a new industry bearing new quality productivity, highlighting the new driving force in the high-quality development of the country. In the future, it is necessary to establish a unified national investment and operation entity for the Internet of Vehicles, explore business models, promote regulatory construction, gather the strength of relevant parties, and improve the development ecology of the Internet of Vehicles.
