Energy transformation towards a new direction, planting high-quality development with a green background
2024-10-21
In recent years, China has been deeply promoting the transformation of energy production and consumption patterns, comprehensively improving the ability to guarantee energy supply, achieving historic breakthroughs in green and low-carbon energy development, and effectively ensuring high-quality economic and social development. China's low-carbon energy transformation has entered the "fast lane", accelerating the construction of a new energy supply system and injecting strong impetus into economic development. According to the latest data from the National Energy Administration, as of the end of September, the cumulative installed power generation capacity in China was about 3.16 billion kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 14.1%. Among them, the installed capacity of solar power generation is about 770 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 48.3%; The installed capacity of wind power is about 480 million kilowatts, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%. The previously released White Paper on China's Energy Transition proposed to accelerate the implementation of the innovation driven development strategy, strengthen key core technology research and development, accelerate innovation in energy technology, industry, and business models, promote new energy technology and its related industries to become new growth points driving industrial upgrading, and cultivate and strengthen new quality productivity. Deepen the market-oriented reform of energy, fully leverage the decisive role of the market in resource allocation, better leverage the role of the government, and stimulate the vitality of various business entities. China's energy transformation has supported high-quality economic and social development The relevant person in charge of the National Energy Administration introduced that in recent years, China has established a complete energy equipment manufacturing industry chain, and technological innovation in new energy, hydropower, nuclear power, power transmission and transformation, new energy storage and other fields has been accelerating, promoting the growth of the clean energy industry into a new pillar of the modern industrial system. In Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, China's first large-scale construction project of "Hualong One" is progressing. Zhangzhou Nuclear Power plans to build six million kilowatt Hualong type nuclear power units with a total installed capacity of about 7.2 million kilowatts. After all are completed and put into operation, it is expected that the annual power generation will exceed 58 billion kilowatt hours; In Haikou, Hainan, China's first deep geothermal scientific exploration well with a depth of over 5000 meters, Fushen Re 1 well, was successfully drilled to 5200 meters, breaking the record for the deepest geothermal scientific exploration well in China and obtaining geothermal resources in multiple strata, marking a new breakthrough in deep geothermal exploration in southern China; In Fuzhou, Fujian, the world's first 16 MW ultra large capacity offshore wind turbine is connected to the grid for power generation. According to years of wind measurement data in the area, a single 16 MW wind turbine can generate 34.2 kWh of electricity per rotation, and can output over 66 million kWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to saving about 22000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 54000 tons. China has a huge total energy demand, rich application scenarios, and active market innovation, and is at the forefront of global energy transformation and development. Industry experts suggest that we should further deepen innovation in green and low-carbon technology research and development, policy systems, business models, and other aspects, based on the first mover advantages already achieved in industries such as energy conservation and environmental protection, clean energy, and electric vehicles. We should continuously create new supply, stimulate new demand, and generate new momentum, and forge new industries, technologies, and advantages for the future. Recently, various regions have also taken action to promote the transition of energy towards a new green direction. In Beijing, by deepening the integration of green and digital energy, actively practicing the innovative path of "green introduction, digital empowerment, efficiency improvement, and carbon sequestration", the local area has achieved the coordinated improvement of energy green and low-carbon transformation, new urbanization construction, and energy and power security guarantee level; In Zaozhuang, Shandong, the local government is accelerating the development and utilization of renewable energy sources such as wind, solar power, and biomass. The highest proportion of distributed photovoltaic power generation output in Zaozhuang reaches 52%, and the installed capacity of new energy power generation has exceeded 3.77 million kilowatts, a fourfold increase in ten years. It is expected that the proportion of new energy installed capacity will historically exceed that of coal-fired power generation next year; In Jiangyin, Jiangsu, significant progress has been made in the innovative development project of gas turbine expansion. The unique advantages of 9F class gas steam combined cycle power generation units in terms of power regulation, gas regulation, and rapid start stop will effectively meet the growing electricity demand in the region and improve the peak shaving capability of the province's power grid. The relevant person in charge of the National Energy Administration said that over the past decade, fixed assets investment in the energy sector has accumulated about 39 trillion yuan, about 4 trillion yuan on average every year, and the production capacity of primary energy has increased by 35%, which has strongly supported the steady and healthy development of China's economy and society. The green and low-carbon transformation of energy and the enhancement of security capabilities are complementary. Industry experts say that by vigorously developing renewable energy, improving energy efficiency, and promoting the transformation of green and low-carbon production and consumption patterns, China can not only reduce its dependence on external energy and enhance its energy security capabilities, but also effectively reduce the investment costs of resources, environment, and other factors in the whole society, and improve the level of economic and ecological security. This marks that China's energy transition is moving towards a safer, greener, and more sustainable direction. (New Society)
