After clicking on the link, customers will be directed to the "private domain live streaming room" of the online chat group, where they will "brainwash" middle-aged and elderly people within a small circle. There are also live streaming rooms that register multiple accounts, but after being reported, they 'switch' to a new platform. These health live streaming rooms target middle-aged and elderly people who are exposed to the internet, capturing their psychological exaggeration of product efficacy. Many middle-aged and elderly people, from gaining small profits at the beginning to purchasing health products worth thousands or even tens of thousands of yuan, step by step fall into designed traps. Regarding this, Zheng Xiang, a professor at the Law School of Beijing Jiaotong University and vice president of the Beijing Aging Law Research Association, believes that such live broadcasts involve illegal activities such as false advertising, product or service infringement, and in serious cases, criminal acts such as fraud, negligence, or intentional injury. He also stated that live streaming sales rely on platforms, with numerous participating entities such as service operators, platform operators, and advertising operators. The legal relationships are complex, and there is confusion of roles and unclear rights and obligations in different forms, which poses difficulties for regulation. Recently, the Cyberspace Administration of China launched a special campaign to rectify false and vulgar phenomena in the field of online live streaming, focusing on cracking down on behaviors that excessively exaggerate the "efficacy" of products, exaggerate the functions of food and health products, and mislead and harm consumers. Zheng Xiang believes that in order to rectify the "pit old" health live streaming room, the platform should first fulfill its responsibilities seriously, conduct strict qualification review on the personnel and content of live streaming sales, and timely supervise the operation of live streaming.
