Why do talents come to the 'Bay'?
2024-10-10
With less than 0.6% of the country's land area and 1/9 of the country's total economic output, development miracles are constantly unfolding in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Behind the flourishing development of regional economy, it relies on individuals who are full of vitality. The college job fair is bustling, the Greater Bay Area Youth Talent Matchmaking Conference continues to be launched, and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is being held... With the arrival of the autumn recruitment season, the Greater Bay Area is busy attracting talents. From college students to entrepreneurial youth, from skilled craftsmen to research scholars, countless talented individuals with aspirations have crossed mountains and seas and gathered here. From 'traffic' to 'retention', why are people willing to come to the 'bay'? Because there is not only a stage here, but also life. Standing in the Bay: Building a Platform for Talents The attractiveness of the Greater Bay Area to talents can be seen from the competition. In recent years, the Greater Bay Area has attracted outstanding talents from Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao through competitions to promote learning and attract talent, providing them with a broad platform for display and opportunities for training. At the same time, they have embedded their own strengths into the gears of economic development in the Greater Bay Area. Recently, the preliminary round of the first Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Human Resources Service Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition came to an end, attracting nearly 200 projects from inside and outside the Greater Bay Area to participate. The participating projects focus on the deep integration of human resources services with other industries, exploring the innovative applications of human resources services in emerging fields such as intelligent manufacturing, digital economy, biomedicine, and cultural creativity. The skills competition in the Greater Bay Area closely focuses on industry demand and has cultivated a group of skill teams that meet industry gaps. Taking the 6th Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area "Cantonese Cuisine Master" Skills Competition as an example, with the continuous development of the Cantonese Cuisine Master Project, more and more young chefs have stood out in the competition, promoting the integration and development of the Cantonese cuisine industry and better serving the "Millions of Projects". The exchange and cooperation of skilled talents among Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao goes far beyond competition and training. In 2023, the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area Industry Education Integration Skills Talent Training Alliance was established, with nearly 150 universities, vocational colleges (technical schools), leading enterprises, industry associations, and other organizations in the Greater Bay Area joining the alliance. They actively carry out activities such as learning and research, building think tanks, project cultivation, and industry education docking. At present, the evaluation standards for skilled talents jointly established by Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao are constantly expanding the scope and training level of the "one test, three certificates" cooperation, and jointly building a high-quality skilled talent team to serve the economic and social development of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Walking with the "Bay": paving the way for employment and entrepreneurship. The Greater Bay Area is not only like a magnet, attracting talents from all over the world, but also like a bridge, promoting the circulation and sharing of regional talents and resources, and increasingly becoming the starting point for young talents to realize their entrepreneurial dreams. Hong Kong's young man Ma Qianyu is a vivid example of this. In 2017, Mai Qianyu founded a robotics company in Cyberport. In order to transform innovative achievements into products and bring them to the market, Mai Qianyu turned his attention to the Greater Bay Area, which has an industrial foundation and policy support. Through the Greater Bay Area, the content of our research and development projects can be promoted to the whole of China and the world, "said Mai Qianyu. It is reported that Guangdong has built a high-level "1+12+N" Hong Kong and Macao Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Service Support System, with the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area (Guangdong) Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Base as the leader, 12 key bases as the backbone, and local characteristic bases as the basis, to achieve "soft connectivity" of policies, services, and exchange mechanisms for Hong Kong and Macao youth to come to Guangdong for entrepreneurship. At present, 84 Hong Kong and Macao youth innovation and entrepreneurship bases have been established in 9 cities in the Pearl River Delta, incubating more than 5600 Hong Kong and Macao projects and employing 7080 Hong Kong and Macao youth. In September of this year, the "Guangdong Province Regulations on Promoting Employment and Entrepreneurship of Hong Kong and Macao Youth in the Nine Cities of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area" officially came into effect, encouraging Hong Kong and Macao youth to expand their employment and entrepreneurship space through legislation and better integrate into the overall development situation. There is a 'bay' to rely on: breaking through boundaries and expanding capacity for daily life. In June of this year, the Shenzhen Zhongshan Passage was officially opened, turning the sea barrier into a thoroughfare. In addition to the interconnectivity of transportation and other hardware, the integration of social security data and cross city business between Shenzhen and China is also accelerating. In recent years, this' seamless migration 'of' two city living 'has been continuously expanding to the entire Greater Bay Area. In 2021, the "Bay Area Social Security Connect" was launched. Currently, 232 "Bay Area Social Security Connect" service windows have been set up in 9 mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area, and 111 cross-border service outlets have been opened in Hong Kong and Macao with complete service hardware and software... Guangdong's social security services have covered 14 administrative divisions in Hong Kong and all administrative divisions in Macao. In order to extend social security handling services to the doorstep of the public, the human resources and social security departments of the nine cities in the Greater Bay Area have actively created a "15 minute social security handling service circle" by working with cooperative banks. Zhuhai is the first city in the province to launch "social bank cooperation", providing citizens with various social security services such as urban and rural residents' pension insurance participation and withdrawal, social insurance transfer application, etc., allowing the public to shift from "at most once" to "nearby once". Under the framework of "one country, two systems, three tariff zones, and three currencies", Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao continue to expand their cooperation mechanisms in the field of social security. More and more residents of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao are willing to participate in this "Greater Bay Area Agreement" together. One side is hot soil, three sides are built together. A new living space full of opportunities and people's livelihood integration is constantly attracting the builders of the Greater Bay Area. (New Society)
