As of the end of August, the total scale of employment for poverty-stricken people in China has reached 32.953 million, exceeding the annual target of 2.761 million, providing strong support for consolidating and expanding the achievements of poverty alleviation.
Promoting the employment of poverty-stricken people through work is an important measure to consolidate and expand the achievements of poverty alleviation, and to firmly guard against the bottom line of large-scale poverty relapse. Since the beginning of this year, various levels and relevant departments have achieved positive results in helping the poverty-stricken population stabilize their employment through stabilizing the stock, expanding the increment, and improving the quality. As of the end of August, the total scale of employment for poverty-stricken people in China has achieved positive growth for seven consecutive months.
The scale of employment for poverty-stricken populations in key areas has also achieved sustained growth. As of the end of August, the scale of employment for poverty-stricken people in 160 key counties supported by national rural revitalization was 6.696 million, an increase of 237000 compared to the same period in 2023; The scale of employment for the poverty-stricken population who have been relocated for poverty alleviation is 4.059 million, reaching 107.5% of the annual target task.
In order to help the poverty-stricken population open up employment opportunities and stabilize employment positions, relevant departments at all levels have taken measures such as using sufficient policies to focus on "stabilizing employment" and actively "expanding employment" by tapping potential. With the national rural revitalization key assistance counties and relocation areas for poverty alleviation as the focus, they have actively carried out activities such as labor cooperation and quality improvement, "Spring Breeze Action", held special job fairs, carried out "point-to-point" transportation, and improved the organization level of migrant work. Collaborate with large-scale employment platform organizations to carry out the "Rain and Dew Plan" employment assistance public welfare action and the "Hundred Day Million Recruitment Special Action", continuously expanding new employment opportunities.
