Customs officers seized a batch of suspected red eared turtles and other turtles from the gap between the sunroof and sunshade of the vehicle and the concealed compartment modified under the armrest box. Yi was unable to provide a valid quarantine approval certificate. After identification, 1760 red eared color turtles (also known as Brazilian turtles) among the animals involved in the case were identified as invasive alien species and included in the "China List of Invasive Alien Species (Third Batch)" and "List of Key Managed Invasive Alien Species", with a reference total price of RMB 88000. The court believes that the defendant Yi's behavior constitutes the crime of illegally introducing invasive alien species. Yi is a recidivist and should be given a heavier punishment according to law; After being brought to justice, he truthfully confessed to his crimes, voluntarily pleaded guilty and accepted punishment, voluntarily paid a fine, and may be given a lighter punishment according to law.
