The Technical Information Research Center of the Supreme People's Procuratorate is the only unit of the Supreme People's Procuratorate engaged in natural science research and application. Its main responsibility is to fully and effectively utilize science and technology to assist judicial work, promote better and faster realization of fairness and justice. Therefore, the prosecution comprehensively applied gait and anthropometric measurement techniques to analyze the gait characteristics of the father and son on the night of the crime, and determine the accurate location of the perpetrator at the time of the crime. On this basis, based on the proportional relationship of perspective projection, the height of the perpetrator is calculated by measuring the distance between the surveillance camera and the ground, the actual length of ground markers, and identifying the real culprit based on comprehensive information on site. Faced with irrefutable evidence, the father and son finally confessed to their criminal behavior.
