Adhere to the front line of electricity protection and safeguard the lights of thousands of households

The 500 kV transmission and transformation project in the Jiangbei urban area of Wuhan, undertaken by State Grid Hubei Power Transmission and Transformation Company, can meet the demand for load development in the Jiangbei area of Wuhan after being put into operation. It is an important project for building a first-class power grid in Wuhan. Not long ago, the nighttime foundation construction of the project was in full swing. Liu Lei, the manager of the construction project department of State Grid Hubei Power Transmission and Transformation Company, said while inspecting the construction progress, "The construction of the foundation of the bottom tower of the TS2 power tower is difficult. For several days in a row, Lao Yi has been nailed to the site like a screw, helping to solve problems in a timely manner and promote project progress." The "Lao Yi" in Liu Lei's mouth is the construction team leader Yi Dexiang. Yi Dexiang, 43 years old this year, is the team leader of the transmission construction branch of State Grid Hubei Power Transmission and Transformation Company. Continuously fighting, his black water boots were covered in mud and his eyes were bloodshot. The TS2 construction site is located in a 33 acre river pond with a water depth of 6 meters. Exploration shows that there is still 2 meters of silt below. The equipment used for foundation construction and how to transport it to the work site have become the first construction difficulties to be solved. I won't retreat until the difficulties are overcome Yi Dexiang organized several excavators and bulldozers to build two water retaining dams, leaving early and returning late to lead the workers to clean up the silt in the construction area. There is a risk of mechanical equipment touching power lines during construction. In order to ensure that the clearance distance between the robotic arm and the live line meets safety requirements, Yi Dexiang commanded the workers to set up height limiting protective nets and lighting lighthouses on site. After 12 days and nights, the concrete pouring operation was safely and smoothly completed. Accompanying steel and cement, and guarding the suburban iron towers, is a daily routine for power grid builders. From a young worker to a construction team leader, with 24 years of experience in power grid construction, Yi Dexiang has worked hard, adhered to the front line of power protection, guarded the lights of thousands of households, and demonstrated the responsibility of a veteran through practical actions. In December 1997, Yi Dexiang enlisted from Wuhan and joined the Army Command Academy. During his service, he was awarded the third class merit once and was rated as an excellent soldier by his unit twice. After retiring, he became a power transmission worker at State Grid Hubei Power Transmission and Transformation Company, and worked tirelessly on the front line of power grid construction and operation and maintenance support for a long time. In 2009, State Grid Hubei Power Transmission and Transformation Company undertook the construction of the 750 kV Urumqi Turpan Hami power transmission and transformation project in Xinjiang, with harsh natural conditions in the construction area. Along with the strong wind, sandstorms filled the sky, hitting the face and making it hard to open one's eyes. In winter, the temperature drops to minus 40 degrees Celsius, and every night, the bottled mineral water next to the bed freezes into hard "popsicles". In order to shorten the construction period and reduce round-trip time, Yi Dexiang, who was then the deputy team leader of the construction team for the 11th section of the project, led the workers to eat three meals a day on the construction site. Some young workers couldn't bear the hardship and started to give up, but Yi Dexiang patiently said, "A bright career is often full of hardships, and holding on will always see the dawn." Under his encouragement and leadership, during the tight 7-month construction period, the workers united as one and successfully completed the construction task. Perseverance is not only the mission of veterans, but also a choice without regrets. In early February this year, there was a rain, snow, and freezing disaster in Xianning, Hubei. A 500 kV power line in the area experienced abnormal operation, and Yi Dexiang gave up the Spring Festival holiday and went straight to the repair site. He led the team to only rest for 5 hours a day, overcoming various difficulties caused by harsh construction conditions, promoting timely restoration of abnormal power lines, and winning the Spring Festival power security battle. Over the years, Yi Dexiang has participated in more than 50 construction tasks, and has successively won honors such as model worker of State Grid Corporation of China, May Day Labor Medal of Hubei Province, and exemplary individual of State Grid Hubei Electric Power Company for ice and snow protection and power supply. Someone asked, what supports me to root in the front line? Previously guarding peace, now guarding light, what has changed is the position, what remains unchanged is the original intention Yi Dexiang said that power supply is a major issue that involves thousands of households. When serving in the military, one should aim for the goal of precision and never waver. When working as an electric power worker, one should also retire without fading away, uphold the spirit of craftsmanship, cultivate strong skills, and contribute to the construction of the power grid.
