My research team has released the first international vehicle cloud field integrated autonomous driving testing system

At the recent 2024 International Conference of the Internet of Vehicles and Intelligent Vehicle Testing Technology Innovation Alliance, the international first "Pioneer Vehicle Cloud Field Integrated Autonomous Driving Virtual Reality Fusion Testing System" (hereinafter referred to as the "Pioneer Testing System") developed by the team led by Zhao Xiangmo, President of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology and Professor of Chang'an University, was released. The biggest feature of this testing system is the use of "virtual scenes" and "accelerated testing methods" to conduct highly reliable testing and evaluation of real autonomous vehicles. Zhao Xiangmo introduced that the Pioneer testing system mainly consists of three parts: a closed test field with high-precision perception and reliable communication capabilities, a test vehicle that supports state data upload and virtual scene injection, and a cloud platform with real-time twin and dynamic simulation capabilities. Each part relies on multi-mode interconnected communication for information exchange and collaborative work. This testing system is mainly aimed at autonomous driving vehicle level platforms, integrating real testing site environments with cloud based twin simulation systems. It can perform accelerated testing, large-scale testing, and enhanced testing, helping to solve the problems of testing accuracy, efficiency, and safety that exist in international "three pillar" testing methods (software simulation testing, public road testing, and closed field testing). During the demonstration of the testing system, the reporter observed that a real autonomous vehicle achieved operational testing in 9 high fidelity scenarios within a testing section of less than 2 kilometers. The Pioneer testing system also quantitatively analyzes key indicators such as safety, operational efficiency, and comfort of the tested vehicles, automatically provides overall scores for testing tasks, and generates testing reports. It is reported that the international standard "Internet of Vehicles in autonomous vehicle Proving Ground" compiled by Zhao Xiangmo's team has been officially approved by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Zhao Xiangmo stated that with further iteration and promotion of the Pioneer testing system, high-level autonomous driving road permits will receive strong technical support, which is expected to promote the rapid development of new quality productivity in the road transportation industry.
