The 11th Beijing Xiangshan Forum will be held from September 12th to 14th at the Beijing International Convention Center. What are the highlights of this forum? Wu Jiangang, the leader of the comprehensive coordination group of the forum organizing committee, interpreted it from four aspects.
Highlight 1: The number and level of attendees have reached a new high
This forum was attended by over 500 representatives from official delegations of more than 100 countries and international organizations, as well as over 200 domestic and foreign experts and scholars. In addition, there are over 30 former political figures and dozens of renowned scholars among the attending guests.

"Wu Jiangang introduced that since its establishment in 2006, the international influence of the Beijing Xiangshan Forum has continued to rise, gradually becoming a well-known high-end security and defense dialogue platform at home and abroad, an international public security product provided by China and shared by the world, and an important cooperation platform for promoting global security initiatives.
Highlight 2: In depth and pragmatic topic setting
This forum has four plenary session topics: "Security Cooperation and Asia Pacific Prosperity and Stability," "Multipolarization and the Direction of International Order," "Global South and World Peace and Development," and "International Mechanisms and Global Security Governance." In addition, there are eight parallel group meeting topics: "ASEAN and Asia Pacific Security Architecture," "Maintaining Northeast Asia Security and Stability," "European Security Trends," "Middle East Peace Vision," "The Way to Get Along Correctly with China and the United States," "Emerging Technologies for Good," "The Future of International Arms Control," and "Humanitarian Crisis in Armed Conflict.
"These agenda settings reflect the common concern of the international community in solving security challenges, and reflect the common aspiration of people of all countries to strengthen solidarity and cooperation." Wu Jiangang said that this forum focuses on the greatest common denominator of security concerns around the world, encourages relevant parties to strengthen in-depth exchanges, conduct equal consultation, and promote countries to embark on a new security path of dialogue rather than confrontation, partnership rather than alignment, and win-win rather than zero sum.
Highlight 3: Innovative and diverse organizational forms
In addition to 4 plenary sessions and 8 parallel group meetings, this forum also arranged multi-level and diversified characteristic brand activities. There are both "high-end interviews" and "dialogues between Chinese and foreign experts and scholars" with the participation of senior domestic and foreign experts, as well as youth academic exchanges such as "SCO+Youth Think Tank Expert Salon" and "Dialogue between Chinese and Foreign Young Military Officers and Scholars". In addition, the forum also arranged important achievements exhibitions, technology innovation exhibitions, defense technology exhibitions and other visiting activities.
Wu Jiangang stated that innovative and diverse activities will help enhance the diversity of topics and targeted discussions in the forum, further strengthen the interactive atmosphere, deepen dialogue content, reflect mutual learning between China and foreign countries, and increase the participation and integration of the attending representatives.
Highlight 4: Deeply practicing the concept of common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable global security
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the publication of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. At this important historical juncture, this forum has established the theme of "Building Peace and Sharing the Future Together", deeply practicing the concept of common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable global security, advocating for cooperation to promote development and security, gathering wisdom and strength to effectively maintain world peace and tranquility, providing conceptual guidance for promoting the implementation and effectiveness of global security initiatives, building an important platform for promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind, guiding the international community to strengthen communication, increase trust and dispel doubts, gather wisdom and provide suggestions, explore the construction of a security architecture and a new security path that is in line with the reality of world development, and contribute to solving international security problems and achieving lasting world peace.
Wu Jiangang introduced that this forum will continue to provide an equal platform for dialogue and collective voice for developing countries and small and medium-sized countries, while further expanding the participation of developed countries such as Europe and the United States and emerging powers, providing assistance for strengthening South South cooperation and promoting North South cooperation.
