Li Qiang stated that President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation this morning, proposing major initiatives for China Africa cooperation in promoting modernization and announcing a package of pragmatic cooperation measures, injecting new impetus into the deepening and development of China Africa relations. China and Ethiopia are all-weather strategic partners. Both countries are developing countries and members of the BRICS, with a strong foundation, enormous potential, and broad prospects for cooperation. China is willing to work with Ethiopia to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, consolidate political mutual trust, deepen all-weather friendship, expand all-round cooperation, and promote greater development of bilateral relations.
Li Qiang pointed out that China is willing to continue to assist and support each other with Ethiopia, and move forward side by side on the path of common development. Both sides need to deeply align their development strategies, expand the scale of trade and investment, strengthen connectivity construction, and actively explore cooperation in emerging industries such as new energy, digital economy, and artificial intelligence. China is willing to import more high-quality products from Ethiopia and encourage more Chinese enterprises to invest in Ethiopia. China is willing to work with Ethiopia to promote the implementation of the outcomes of the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, give play to the leading role of the Addis Ababa Djibouti Railway, make good use of the China Africa cooperation platform, and build a new pattern of China Africa cooperation and development. China supports Ethiopia's comprehensive integration into BRICS cooperation and is willing to work together with Ethiopia to promote the global South cooperation process, uphold international fairness and justice, and jointly promote world peace, stability, development, and prosperity.
Abi expressed congratulations on the successful completion of the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation. President Xi Jinping's proposal of the "Ten Partnership Actions" for China and Africa to work together to promote modernization is fully in line with Africa's development vision. Ethiopia is willing to promote the implementation of the summit outcomes, learn from China's successful experience in reform and opening up, further expand the scale of Africa China trade, and assist in Africa's industrialization process. Ethiopia thanks China for providing strong support for its economic and social development, and looks forward to deepening cooperation with China in areas such as economy, trade, investment, industry, agriculture, scientific and technological innovation, digital economy, security law enforcement, tourism, etc., to promote the sustained and in-depth development of the all-weather strategic partnership between the two countries. Ethiopia is willing to strengthen cooperation and cooperation with China on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations and BRICS, and promote the development of global governance towards a more just and reasonable direction.
After the talks, the prime ministers of the two countries jointly witnessed the signing of a number of bilateral cooperation documents on the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", economic and trade cooperation, export of agricultural products to China, space technology, earth science, green low-carbon, rural development, people's livelihood, justice, media and other fields.
Before the meeting, Li Qiang held a welcoming ceremony for Abi in the central hall of the Great Hall of the People.
