The 9th Eastern Economic Forum Plenary Session was held on the afternoon of September 5th in Vladivostok, Russia. Chinese Vice President Han Zheng attended and delivered a speech titled "Deepening Unity and Cooperation to Promote Prosperity and Development Together". Russian President Putin and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
Han Zheng pointed out that currently, the world's century long changes are accelerating, and the international situation is intertwined with turmoil. However, the trend of peace, development, cooperation, and win-win is unstoppable. President Xi Jinping has put forward the major concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, as well as global development initiatives, global security initiatives, and global civilization initiatives, contributing the "Chinese solution" to global governance and injecting confidence and momentum into the international community's joint efforts to address challenges and achieve common development. China is willing to work together with countries in the region to deepen unity and cooperation, and jointly promote peace, stability, and prosperous development in the region.
Han Zheng put forward three suggestions for deepening cooperation in Northeast Asia. One is to uphold openness and inclusiveness. China firmly adheres to a mutually beneficial and win-win opening-up strategy, promotes the construction of an open world economy, opposes protectionism, opposes decoupling and disconnection, and opposes unilateral sanctions and extreme pressure. China is willing to strengthen solidarity with countries in the region, adhere to openness, fairness, mutual respect, and seek common development through cooperation. The second is to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation. Countries in Northeast Asia should actively seek more areas of shared interests, jointly maintain stable and smooth supply chains, strengthen cooperation in fields such as artificial intelligence, digital economy, and green economy, and help promote common development. The third is to coordinate the development of security. China firmly opposes all forms of hegemonism and power politics, Cold War mentality, interference in the internal affairs of other countries, and double standards as a defender of world peace and promoter of global development.
Chinese path to modernization is a modernization that follows the path of peaceful development and benefits the world. China will continue to promote high-quality development and high-level opening up to the outside world, creating more opportunities for the region and the world through its own development, and making due contributions to the modernization process of the region and the world.
During the interactive communication session, Han Zheng answered questions from the host on China's outbound investment and Northeast Far East cooperation, China's contribution to regional and global economic growth, and promoting the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
This forum, with the theme of "Far East 2030: Unity, Co creation of Opportunities", invites people from all walks of life, including government, business, industry, and academia from various countries to attend.
On the afternoon of the 6th, Han Zheng will also meet with Governor Kobzev of Irkutsk Oblast, Russia.
