At the press conference, Saisi said that Egypt and Türkiye unanimously called for a ceasefire in Gaza and urged Israel to end the violent conflict in the West Bank. Sisi said that Egypt and Türkiye have many things in common, and cooperation between the two countries is increasing. He stated that Erdogan's visit to Egypt in February this year provided impetus for the development of bilateral relations. After the fall of former Egyptian President Morsi in 2013, relations between Egypt and Türkiye deteriorated, and the two countries downgraded their diplomatic relations. Starting from 2021, high-level diplomats from Egypt and Turkey have held consultations. Last July, Egypt and Türkiye resumed diplomatic relations to the ambassadorial level and exchanged ambassadors.
