The third policy address of the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, will be released in October this year, and the public consultation work on the policy address will also begin on July 16th. On September 5th, eight members of the Hong Kong Shandong Political Consultative Conference Members' Association were invited by the Chief Executive's Policy Group to attend a public consultation meeting on the policy address at the headquarters of the Special Administrative Region Government and submitted their proposals on site. The proposal is divided into two sections: "Benefiting People's Livelihood and Adding Happiness" and "Striving for Economic Development". Through in-depth analysis of topics such as attracting talent and ensuring employment, boosting Hong Kong's economy, promoting the future development of finance and shipping, promoting the integration of the Bay Area, supporting cultural and medical industries, reasonable suggestions are proposed. On September 5th, members of the Hong Kong Shandong Political Consultative Conference Members' Association attended a public consultation meeting on the policy address at the Hong Kong SAR Government Headquarters and submitted their proposals on site. The day before, Li Jiachao visited the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and exchanged views with its leadership on Hong Kong's economic development and various issues. At the meeting, the directors of the Chamber of Commerce and members of the Advisory Council submitted a proposal for the 2024 Policy Address to the Chief Executive, urging the SAR government to take emergency measures, including assisting small and medium-sized enterprises and expanding the local workforce. The proposal also covers concerns about the ongoing shortage of land and housing supply, how to further promote the development of important industries such as financial services, trade, logistics and transportation, tourism and innovative technology, and how to accelerate Hong Kong's transformation into a more livable green and smart city. The Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, a political group in Hong Kong, also met with Li Jiachao earlier and put forward 195 suggestions focusing on economic development, including proposing to abolish the liquor tax, strengthen innovation and technology cooperation with mainland cities in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, improve the liquidity of the Hong Kong stock market, discuss the development of e-commerce with mainland China and ASEAN governments, establish an interdepartmental working group as soon as possible to develop the "low altitude economy", and promote Hong Kong to become a new energy technology transfer base and a green fuel refueling center.
