Li Qiang stated that President Xi Jinping held talks with the President and jointly announced the upgrade of bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era, opening a new chapter in building a high-level community with a shared future for China and South Africa. This is not only in line with the fundamental interests of both countries, but also of great significance for the reform and improvement of the global governance system and the development and growth of the global South. China is willing to work together with South Africa to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state and promote the steady development of China South Africa relations and cooperation.
Li Qiang pointed out that China is willing to strengthen the docking of development strategies with the South, take the high-quality co construction of the "the Belt and Road" cooperation as a guide, accelerate the implementation of the Strategic Plan for China South Ten Year Cooperation, give play to the role of national bilateral committees and other mechanisms, expand cooperation in infrastructure, agriculture, new energy, science and technology innovation and other fields, and constantly consolidate and deepen bilateral trade and investment cooperation. China is willing to import more high-quality products from South Africa and hopes that South Africa will continue to provide a favorable business environment for Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in South Africa. Both sides should hold the fourth meeting of the China South South High level People to People Exchange Mechanism, promote cooperation in cultural tourism, education, youth, poverty reduction and other fields, and consolidate the foundation of friendly public opinion between the two countries. China is willing to work with South Africa and other African countries to implement the outcomes of the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the consensus of China Africa leaders, and work together to create a better future for China and Africa.
Ramaphosa said that the friendship between the two peoples has a long history and the current bilateral relations have a strong momentum of development. South Africa has always regarded China as its most reliable friend and important strategic partner, and the improvement of bilateral relations once again confirms the uniqueness of South China relations. The South firmly adheres to the One China policy, supports President Xi Jinping's concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind and a series of global initiatives, and is willing to strengthen exchanges with China at all levels, expand trade scale under the framework of jointly building the Belt and Road, and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in investment, infrastructure, energy, humanities and other fields. South Africa attaches great importance to China's core role in global affairs, highly appreciates China's commitment to safeguarding the interests of Africa and developing countries, and believes that this summit will be a successful event, injecting new impetus into Africa's development and revitalization.
