On August 24, the 2024 Decathlon Guangzhou Third Youth Swimming League ended at the swimming pool of Guangdong Experimental Middle School in Liwan District. This event was jointly held by Decathlon (Guangzhou) Sports Goods Co., Ltd. and Yongjun Sports Club. The event has been held in Guangzhou for three consecutive years, attracting 366 participants and a total of 469 participants. This competition is aimed at teenagers aged 6 to 13, divided into groups based on gender and age. The competition covers four strokes: breaststroke, freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke, with over 100 athletes registering for the two strokes. In this year's competition, freestyle became a popular individual event, with almost half of the athletes choosing freestyle as their competition event. As the most traditional stroke, breaststroke has also followed closely behind freestyle in terms of registration. Pan Qianyi, general manager of Decathlon Guangzhou, said after the competition: "Having a strong physique is the root of the healthy growth of young people. This swimming competition, young people can not only challenge their own physical limits, but also cultivate a tenacious character and a sense of competition to forge ahead." It is understood that in recent years, Guangzhou has continued to develop in the fields of national fitness, competitive sports, sports industry and so on, and issued the "Guangzhou National Fitness Implementation Plan (2021-2025)" and other policies to promote the development of mass sports. Decathlon "swim straight ahead! Teenagers!" The Youth Swimming League was first introduced to the Great Bay Area in 2022.
