According to data released by the Macao SAR Government Tourism Office on August 25th, the number of inbound tourists on August 24th reached 166500, the highest daily passenger volume from July 1st to August 24th this year, an increase of 7.5% compared to the same period in 2019. The data also shows that the number of inbound tourists to Macau from July 1 to August 24 this year was 5.9022 million, which has recovered to 91.9% of the same period in 2019. Among them, there were 302200 international passengers, which has recovered to 74.9% of the same period in 2019. The Macao SAR Government Tourism Office stated that the central government's series of measures to benefit Macao, such as increasing the tax-free limit for carrying luggage and expanding the "individual travel" from mainland China to Hong Kong and Macao, have effectively driven the growth of visitors to Macao. During the summer vacation, the tourism bureau continues to follow up on various supporting work, hosting and supporting diverse activities such as "Cool Play Macau", attracting tourists to visit the community in depth and further enriching their tourism experience. This year marks the anniversary of the "Double Celebration", and the Macao SAR Government Tourism Office will hold a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 25th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland, including the 32nd Macao International Fireworks Display, 2024 World Tourism Day Tray Competition, 2024 Colorful Macao River, and fireworks performances to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region.
