To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) has held two consecutive weekends of "Anti Corruption, Never Stop" themed open days since August 17th. Citizens, media and other people from all walks of life are invited to visit the ICAC headquarters building, allowing the public to understand the ICAC's anti-corruption work and the anti-corruption footprint of the past half century. Cui Yuming, Chief Director of Anti Corruption Education at the Community Relations Department of the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption, attended the event. Director Cui Yuming of the Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption 50th Anniversary Open Day event stated in a media interview that the ICAC holds an open day event every two to three years to allow citizens to have a firsthand understanding of the ICAC's various work. This year, the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) hopes to lead everyone to review the resolute spirit of "anti-corruption and continuous progress" over the past 50 years and let everyone feel the ICAC's determination to explore and innovate in its work. I hope that citizens can have a good visiting experience today and continue to share the story of Hong Kong's anti-corruption with the ICAC in the future. "During the event, Cui Yuming, Chief Director of ICAC Education at the Community Relations Department of the ICAC, will open some areas of the 25 story ICAC building to the public. On the second floor, the public can learn about the historical events since its establishment by watching the ICAC's classic promotional posters and historical photo exhibitions. They can also experience the latest developed" Practice Easy "VR virtual reality investigation scenario training system at the Hong Kong International Anti Corruption Academy established in February this year; On the 6th floor, the public can not only have a panoramic view of the firearms and equipment used by the ICAC over the years, but also see ICAC personnel simulate arrest operations; On the 9th floor, this year's special "50 Years of Incorruption" exhibition displayed the wonderful stills and essence of the theme TV series "Incorruption Action", which was launched by the ICAC and Hong Kong local TV stations since its establishment in 1974; On the 11th floor, the "Single sided Reflective Mirror Suspect Room", "Triangle TV Video Interview Room", "Detention Center" and other real scenes of investigators meeting witnesses or suspects are presented, allowing the public to directly feel the serious atmosphere of the anti-corruption work. On site, there was also a fun interaction between the anti-corruption cartoon character "Little Coffee Bean" and the children. According to on-site investigations by Xinhua News Agency reporters, the open day event attracted about 19000 people to submit applications for visits. After computer drawing, the organizers finally issued about 6000 admission tickets. The event also attracted many mainland friends to participate in Hong Kong. Director Cui Yuming told Xinhua News Agency reporters, "I am glad to see the active participation of mainland friends, which gives us the opportunity to introduce the work of the Independent Commission Against Corruption to them." In response to the widespread discussion caused by the open day event on mainland social media, he further stated that this is a good opportunity to promote in-depth exchanges between the two places. At the "50 Years of Clean Governance Light and Shadow" exhibition hall, Hong Kong citizen Leung Kwan ho was browsing through the TV series "Clean Governance Action" one by one. He told a reporter from Xinhua News Agency that as an ordinary citizen, he rarely has the opportunity to come into contact with the work of the anti-corruption agency. Therefore, whether it is experiencing the environment of detention rooms firsthand, getting up close to firearms and equipment, or understanding the innovative breakthroughs of VR technology in anti-corruption work, he feels that "this experience is very unforgettable". Lu Xiaoying from Shenzhen said that this is her first time participating in the ICAC Open Day event. By visiting the headquarters of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC), I gained a deeper understanding of the working methods of the ICAC. At the same time, it was a great opportunity for science popularization because after experiencing it firsthand, I realized that there are still many differences between reality and TV dramas. "Hong Kong citizen Leung Kwan ho and Shenzhen citizen Lu Xiaoying were informed that this is the 11th open day event held by the ICAC, with the largest scale and the richest and most innovative exhibition content in history.
