The China Laos Forum on Sustainable Development and Comprehensive Utilization of Mineral Resources and the Annual Meeting of the China Nonferrous Metals International Capacity Cooperation Enterprise Alliance were held in Vientiane, the capital of Laos, on the 13th. Nearly 200 people from government agencies, industry associations, and other organizations of China and Laos attended the forum. Thongpa Intafong, Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Laos, introduced the development of non-ferrous metal mineral resources in Laos in his speech at the forum, stating that relevant cooperation projects between Laos and China are steadily advancing and playing a promoting role in the friendship between the two countries. Zhao Wenyu, Counsellor of the Economic and Commercial Office of the Chinese Embassy in Laos, stated that China is willing to share its experience and practices with Laos, further deepen cooperation in the mineral industry, encourage Chinese enterprises to invest in the mineral industry in Laos, and achieve the goal of sustainable resource development. This forum is jointly organized by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association and the Lao Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources under the guidance of the China Nonferrous Metals International Capacity Cooperation Enterprise Alliance, the Lao National Energy and Mining Research Institute, and Kunming University of Science and Technology. Its aim is to build a communication bridge for non-ferrous metal industry enterprises and promote cooperation in the non-ferrous metal field between China and Laos. (New Society)
