Recently, the reporter learned from the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the first neutron full scattering spectrometer in China, the Multiphysical Spectrometer, jointly built by the Spallation Neutron Source Science Center, Dongguan Institute of Technology and City University of Hong Kong, has completed more than 300 user experiments in the past three years, becoming a model of collaborative innovation in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and providing important technical support for serving major national needs, industrial needs and basic research. The multi physics spectrometer is the first collaborative spectrometer built on the China Spallation Neutron Source, a major national scientific and technological infrastructure. Its research areas include batteries and energy, chemistry and environment, alloy materials, rare earth and magnetic materials, etc. It provides a structured research platform with different degrees of order for materials science, physics, chemistry, environment and other fields. The multiple key technical indicators of the multi physics spectrometer are at the leading level of similar spectrometers internationally, and the diffraction resolution of the spectrometer has reached the best level of similar spectrometers internationally. In the process of developing a multi physics spectrometer, the research team of the China Spallation Neutron Source Target Station Spectrometer Hall has achieved a series of key technological breakthroughs, including the successful development of a domestically produced position sensitive helium triple tube detector for the first time, which has been applied in engineering and achieved international advanced performance, achieving a breakthrough from 0 to 1 and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent independent development of spectrometer detectors; The team also independently developed the first domestically produced software for neutron diffraction and distribution function data specification, and constructed the entire chain of full scattering data acquisition and analysis technology, achieving the localization of neutron full scattering data specification software. Through the use of multi physics spectrometers, researchers have published over 100 high-quality papers in academic journals such as Nature. It is understood that the multi physics spectrometer is the first large-scale scientific experimental facility invested and constructed in Hong Kong and Macao, supporting cutting-edge research and technological development of universities, research institutes, and enterprises including the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, and has an irreplaceable demonstration and leading role. The multi physics spectrometer has provided key support for the "Chinese Academy of Sciences Hong Kong Joint Laboratory of Neutron Scattering Science and Technology" and "Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Joint Laboratory of Neutron Scattering Science and Technology".
