Recently, the "Three Year Action Plan for Building Guangzhou International Shipping Hub (2024-2026)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Three Year Action Plan") was officially issued with the approval of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government. The Three Year Action Plan proposes 31 tasks and 4 safeguard measures from eight aspects, including improving the level of international shipping hubs and enhancing the comprehensive service capabilities of ports. Since 2015, Guangzhou has formulated and implemented three rounds of three-year action plans to continuously improve the level of international shipping hubs. Through the implementation of the third round of three-year action plan (2021-2023), multiple indicators of Guangzhou Port have reached the forefront globally and nationally. The collection and distribution system is more smooth, with 268 container shipping routes; The infrastructure is gradually improving, with 13 new berths of over 10000 tons and 10 new berths of 100000 tons and above added in three years; The high-end shipping business is accelerating its aggregation, with a transaction volume of 7.57 billion yuan and 2444 vessels completed in three years; Major strategies are being vigorously and orderly promoted, the construction of the Lingang Economic Zone is accelerating, and the construction of the Greater Bay Area Shipping Joint Trading Center is progressing in an orderly manner. The Three Year Action Plan will take the promotion of high-quality development as the theme, the construction of world-class ports as the goal, the in-depth promotion of the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area, the implementation of the Nansha Plan and other major strategies as the traction, improve the energy level of Guangzhou's international shipping hub, enhance the capacity of shipping resource allocation, promote the construction of the port economic zone, develop the new quality productivity of port and shipping, and improve the key industrial chain groups. By 2026, Guangzhou Port will strive to achieve 700 million tons of cargo throughput, 27 million TEUs of container throughput, 800000 TEUs of sea rail intermodal transportation, 1.6 million commercial vehicle throughput, and more than 15 billion yuan of fixed assets investment of port and shipping.
