The National Medical Products Administration has issued the "Regulations on the Management of Labels for Traditional Chinese Medicine Pieces", which will come into effect on August 1, 2024. Among them, the shelf life labeling will be implemented from August 1, 2025. The Regulations consist of 22 articles, clarifying the scope of application, overall requirements, responsible parties, packaging requirements, label printing requirements, label content requirements, packaging label management during shipment, additional label items, special Chinese medicine decoction piece identification and other related requirements. The Regulation specifies that the labels of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces produced and operated within the territory of the People's Republic of China shall comply with the requirements of this Regulation. This regulation does not apply to the direct use of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces prepared by drug manufacturing enterprises for drug production.
