Recently, it was learned from Yangjiang Nuclear Power that the on grid electricity of the nuclear power plant was about 24.448 billion kilowatt hours in the first half of this year. As of June 30th, a total of 363.034 billion kilowatt hours of electricity has been transmitted to the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Compared with coal-fired power plants of the same scale, the cumulative reduction of standard coal consumption exceeds 100 million tons, and the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions is nearly 300 million tons. The environmental benefits are equivalent to planting 816800 hectares of forest, covering an area equivalent to 1.02 Yangjiang City, contributing to the low-carbon energy transformation and ecological civilization construction in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Since its commercial operation in 2014, Yangjiang Nuclear Power Unit has maintained safe and stable operation, with continuous improvement in safety performance and management level. Its safety, quality and environmental performance have remained high-end and stable, and its important indicators have reached the industry's advanced level. While ensuring safe power generation, Yangjiang Nuclear Power actively practices the concept of ecological nuclear power, firmly follows the path of ecological priority and green development, and supports the construction of ecological civilization in surrounding areas. Coordinate the promotion of water conservation and greening work in the base, organize theme activities such as World Water Day, World Environment Day, and Arbor Day every year, and promote the beautification of the town area. Due to the beautiful environment of the base, it has attracted egrets, rock herons, red eared bulbulbuls, short footed pilot whales, Chinese white dolphins, and more. Meanwhile, driven by the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Project, after several years of development, Yangdong District in Yangjiang City has established a clean energy supply system covering the entire chain of "nuclear, wind, solar, storage, hydrogen, and installation". As of now, the total installed capacity of clean energy power generation projects that have been completed, put into operation, and are under construction in Yangdong District is about 14 million kilowatts, making it an important clean energy supply base in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
