According to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, on the 15th, the first domestically produced fully electric communication satellite, the Asia Pacific 6E, successfully passed the satellite in orbit technical acceptance review and the final technical acceptance review of the ground system in Hong Kong, marking the completion of in orbit testing and official operation of the Asia Pacific 6E communication satellite. The Asia Pacific 6E communication satellite was developed by the Fifth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation using the Dongfanghong-3E satellite platform. It is the first satellite of this platform and has a lifespan of 15 years in orbit. The relevant person in charge of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation stated that the successful operation of the Asia Pacific 6E communication satellite is of great significance for achieving high carrying capacity and low cost of satellite platforms, enhancing the international competitiveness of China's communication satellite platforms, and achieving fully autonomous orbit enhancement and long-term in orbit autonomous work of satellites, improving the intelligent and autonomous level of China's satellite platforms. It is reported that the Asia Pacific 6E communication satellite project is the 13th communication satellite in orbit delivery project provided by Great Wall Company, a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, to domestic and foreign users. It is operated by Hong Kong Asia Pacific Satellite Network Co., Ltd. The Asia Pacific 6E communication satellite focuses on the Southeast Asian market, aiming to provide cost-effective high-throughput broadband communication services for the region. (New Society)
