The two heads of state unanimously agreed to elevate the relationship between China and Guinea Bissau to a strategic partnership.
In recent years, the relationship between the two countries has continued to deepen, political mutual trust has become more firm, practical cooperation has become more extensive, and international coordination has become closer. China supports Guinea Bissau in independently exploring a development path that suits its own national conditions, and is willing to inherit traditional friendship with Guinea Bissau, consolidate political mutual trust, expand practical cooperation, continuously enrich the connotation of the strategic partnership between the two countries, and help Guinea Bissau better achieve national development.
China welcomes high-quality agricultural products from Guinea Bissau to enter the Chinese market, encourages Chinese enterprises to invest and cooperate in Guinea Bissau, and helps Guinea Bissau transform its resource potential into development momentum. China is willing to continue providing support to Guinea Bissau's domestic development to the best of its ability, dispatching rice technology experts and medical teams to assist Guinea Bissau in ensuring food security and developing public health services. Both sides should strengthen exchanges and cooperation in education, youth and other fields to promote mutual understanding between the two countries. China will continue to provide government scholarships and training opportunities to help Guinea Bissau cultivate various talents needed for national development.
The mutual support and assistance between China and African countries is sincere, a model of genuine friendship, brotherhood, and solidarity and cooperation among developing countries. In the new situation, we should work together to create a new era. The Forum on China Africa Cooperation is an important platform for the Chinese and African peoples to practice the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and promote common development. Two weeks ago, we held a grand commemorative event in Beijing to mark the 70th anniversary of the publication of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence. The new Forum on China Africa Cooperation Summit will be held in Beijing this autumn. China is willing to work with African countries such as Guinea Bissau to promote the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, discuss major plans for China Africa cooperation in the new era, safeguard the common interests of developing countries and international fairness and justice, join hands to build a high-level China Africa community with a shared future, and promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind.
Enballo said that from the moment we arrived, the delegation and I deeply felt the sincere friendship of the Chinese people towards our African brothers. Guinea Bissau and China have a good and strong relationship, and both sides have always been firm in supporting each other. When faced with difficulties in Guinea Bissau, China always provided valuable support without hesitation, and the people of Guinea Bissau will never forget it. We will also firmly stand with China as always, firmly adhere to the One China principle, and firmly support China's position on core interest issues such as Taiwan. Guinea Bissau admires China's great development achievements and regards China as its top priority and most important partner in diplomacy. It hopes to learn from China's development philosophy and experience, strengthen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, investment, infrastructure, mineral resources, and energy, and contribute to national development. China never engages in colonization, never interferes in the internal affairs of other countries, never gives orders to other countries, always gives equality and respect to small countries, and always keeps its words and deeds consistent. China has brought cooperation projects such as schools, hospitals, and roads to African countries that benefit the people of Africa. Guinea Bissau highly appreciates the important role and positive contributions played by China in helping the development of the African continent, and actively supports China in hosting the new summit of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation.
After the meeting, the two heads of state witnessed the signing of multiple bilateral cooperation documents on implementing global development initiatives, economic development, customs inspection and quarantine, geology and mining, and other fields.
Both sides issued a joint statement on establishing a strategic partnership between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Guinea Bissau.
When Enballo arrived, the ceremonial soldiers lined up to pay their respects. The two heads of state stepped onto the reviewing stand, the military band played the national anthems of China and Guinea Bissau, and 21 salutes were fired at Tiananmen Square.
