More than 12000 Guangdong Youth College Student Assault Teams to Provide Services in Counties, Towns, and Villages

On July 10th, the launch ceremony of the Sun Yat sen University's "Million and Ten Thousand Project" assault team and the Guangdong "Youth Practitioner Plan" demonstration project was held at the Huaishi Hall on the south campus of Sun Yat sen University's Guangzhou campus. This event is one of the eight provincial-level demonstration activities for the "Million and Ten Thousand Project" assault team's deployment ceremony. The Guangdong Youth College Students' "Ten Million Project" Assault Team Action (hereinafter referred to as the Assault Team Action) is led and implemented by the Youth League and Provincial Committee, leading South Guangdong students to form a youth assault team to deeply serve the grassroots. The assault team operation has been included in the key task of the 2024 "Ten Million Project". Currently, more than 230 universities and vocational schools both inside and outside the province are participating in the assault team operation. 12580 assault teams have been paired online, and various schools are gradually carrying out training and deployment ceremonies. This summer, over 100000 college and vocational school students will travel to counties, towns, and villages throughout the province to provide targeted services. At the event, project teams from the School of Foreign Languages, School of Geography and Planning, and Zhongshan Ophthalmology Center of Sun Yat sen University shared their practical experience and research methods. The Provincial Youth League Committee promotes universities to establish 4046 key teams at the school level based on the school's educational level, professional characteristics, and student size, with each team equipped with vice senior and higher-level guidance teachers. South China University of Technology mobilized three academicians and more than 200 professional teachers to lead students to practice in rural areas. Professor Shilin from the School of Environment and Energy guided the student science and technology innovation team to land in Kaiping, using patented technology to prepare selenium rich mineral soil conditioners to achieve increased crop yield and planting; Professor Li Binbin from the School of Architecture led a student team to take root in cities such as Heshan and Huilai to carry out the revitalization and renovation of abandoned buildings. South China Normal University organized 133 assault teams to create "double teacher specialized delivery classrooms" in Maoming, Zhaoqing, Jieyang, Shanwei and other places, providing education and assistance in foreign languages, mathematics, Chinese language, science, psychology, sound, physical and aesthetic education. South China Agricultural University continues to carry out the "Ten Thousand Students Rural Survey Action" and has formed 55 agricultural science assault teams. In addition to classroom learning, more scientific and technological innovation achievements of college students can also be tested in counties, towns, and villages. The Provincial Youth League Committee has established a practical education system that integrates scientific and technological innovation with social practice. The front-end has established a "climbing plan" project cultivation mechanism, and the mid-end has launched a series of "Challenge Cup" competitions and various scientific and technological academic activities. The back-end has organized "Three Down to the Countryside" social practice activities, forming a complete work loop, with a focus on guiding college students to transform and incubate their scientific and technological innovation achievements in the county. This year, the provincial government has invested a total of 21.68 million yuan in the "Climbing Plan", and all 956 university student scientific and technological innovation teams supported have been transformed into assault teams; A total of 391 teams in the final round of the Provincial Challenge Cup Entrepreneurship Plan Competition have been converted into assault teams. At the beginning of this year, the Youth League Provincial Committee launched the "Million and Ten Million School Local Communication" mini program, optimizing the school local cooperation model of "town village topic selection, university ranking, rolling promotion, and long-term pairing", establishing a practical education platform for school local pairing and co construction, and a university science and technology innovation practice transformation platform based on county level. As of now, there are a total of 27000 registered assault teams on the platform, and 1673 towns and streets have issued service requests on the platform. The Provincial Youth League Committee has promoted the establishment of 202 assault team workstations in counties, towns, and villages by prefectures, cities, and universities, covering 57 counties. Guangdong University of Technology has established an assault team called Yunan Workstation in Guiwei Village, Guiwei Town, Yunan County. Fifteen assault teams have been selected in bulk to build a smart monitoring system for the entire growth cycle of seedless yellow skin. In Baiqiao Village, Genzi Town, Gaozhou City, Sun Yat sen University and its affiliated areas jointly established a workstation and formed a "High Quality Development Practice Team" with a total of 38 assault teams from 40 departments and affiliated hospital Youth League Committees. The team provides practical services in five areas: decision-making consultation, medical improvement, industrial upgrading, cultural revitalization, and educational development. Starting from this year, the Provincial Youth League Committee has innovatively implemented the Youth Practitioner Plan and the Guangdong Young College Students' "Million and Ten Thousand Project" Special Action Team, and organized the recruitment of a group of doctoral and master's students to provide part-time services at the grassroots level in the county. After screening, 240 positions have been recruited from 10 cities, including positions in party and government agencies and frontline positions in enterprises. Dongguan City has set up over 80 positions in the first batch and plans to recruit 136 master's and doctoral students. Shenzhen has linked 5 pilot areas, developing 55 practical positions in the fields of service industry development, major project tackling, and grassroots governance. Harbin Institute of Technology (Shenzhen) and Shenzhen Shantou Special Cooperation Zone have been used as pilot areas for school local cooperation. Sun Yat sen University mobilized 15 master's and doctoral students to go to the grassroots level, and 3 doctoral students will serve as assistant directors of various functional departments in Haizhu District. South China University of Technology has launched the "Duxing Plan", organizing nearly 170 graduate students (including master's and doctoral students) to intern at grassroots levels in Guangzhou, Jiangmen, Jieyang, and other areas. The Assault Team Action has invited 52 university students from outside the province to come to Guangdong to observe and assist in the "Million and Ten Million Project", including many "Double First Class" universities such as Tsinghua University and Peking University to actively participate. The Tsinghua University Rural Revitalization Practice Team went to Liannan, Guangdong to carry out practical work in various aspects such as research, design, planning, and architecture; The Peking University "Power Action Plan" practice team conducted research on Zhuhai's resource endowment and comparative advantages, focusing on strategic research on highlights such as connecting Hong Kong and Macao, land sea coordination, and green and beautiful ecology; The practical team from Qiushi College of Zhejiang University went to the Chaoshan area to carry out Chinese culture lectures and teaching activities.
