At the beginning of the establishment of Ganjiang Innovation Institute, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Jiangxi Provincial People's Government worked together to overcome many difficulties and build this "muddy land" into a "scientific research oasis". Compared to the construction and updating of infrastructure and scientific research hardware, they also face a more daunting challenge: the newly built Ganjiang Innovation Institute is not as well-known as the old large institute, and its location in Ganzhou has no geographical advantage compared to many large cities. How can it attract high-level scientific research talents? "If other units have to look at the thatched cottage three times to attract talent, we are at least 'seven eyed'." Ganjiang Innovation Institute has established a "Talent Introduction Special Class" to provide a series of preferential policies, including a settlement fee ranging from 600000 to 1.5 million yuan and a minimum research start-up fund of no less than 8 million yuan, for five different levels of talents. In the past two years, Ganjiang Innovation Institute has allocated an annual funding equivalent to 40% of the total operating expenses of the institute as a talent introduction fund, ensuring that researchers can obtain necessary research funding and resource support. More than two years ago, when young scientific researcher Peng Lishan learned that Ganjiang Innovation Institute urgently needed research talents in the fields of hydrogen storage and catalysis, he resolutely gave up his position in overseas universities and returned to China from New Zealand to build a research and development platform, tackling the difficulties in related fields. In order to encourage talents to willingly stay in this red soil for development, Jiangxi Province, as well as Ganzhou City and Ganxian District, provide comprehensive guarantees in terms of housing, medical treatment, children's enrollment, and spouse employment placement. Researcher Lan Hao came to work in Ganzhou alone from Beijing four years ago. Recently, he has made up his mind to transfer his work relationship from the research institute in Beijing to the Ganjiang Innovation Institute.
