The Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Li Jiachao, stated on the 6th that the SAR government attaches great importance to patriotic education. Recently, a patriotic education working group was established and has started working, setting short-term and long-term directions to fully promote patriotic education in society. On the same day, Li Jiachao delivered a video speech at the 2024 Hong Kong Patriotic Education Forum and the launch ceremony of the Hong Kong Aerospace Science Popularization Education Base. He said that the Education Bureau of the Special Administrative Region Government will continue to promote national education and national security education both on and off campus, and align with the content of the Patriotic Education Law of the People's Republic of China. He said that he hopes that the SAR government and all sectors of society can work together to actively promote patriotic education, vigorously promote the mainstream values centered on patriotism and love for Hong Kong, which are in line with the "One Country, Two Systems" policy, help Hong Kong youth cultivate patriotism, hone their skills, and become capable pillars of great responsibility. Li Jiachao stated that the SAR government is fully committed to developing innovative technology and actively cultivating future innovative talents in Hong Kong. The SAR government has announced a new primary school science curriculum, incorporating the topic of "National Aerospace and Innovative Technology" to cultivate students' interest in space exploration from an early age.
