Over the weekend, along with the anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (July 1st), Hong Kong welcomes a three-day holiday, and many Hong Kong citizens take advantage of the holiday to travel outside of Hong Kong. According to statistics from the Hong Kong Immigration Department, a total of 1.037 million Hong Kong residents left the country in the first two days of the holiday (June 29-30), of which 797000 went north, accounting for approximately 77%. In terms of daily outbound data, 554000 people left the country on the 29th, of which approximately 419000 went north. On the 30th, 484000 Hong Kong people left the country, of which approximately 377000 went north. On the 30th, the national major project Shenzhen Zhongshan Passage, which connects Shenzhen and Zhongshan in Guangdong, was officially opened for trial operation. The travel time between the two places has been shortened from the previous two hours to about half an hour, attracting many Hong Kong people to experience it first, including participating in delegations, driving or taking cross-border buses. This year's July 1st coincides with the one-year anniversary of the implementation of the "Hong Kong Vehicles Going North" policy. With the opening of the Shenzhen China Channel, the "one hour living circle" in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area has laid a more solid foundation, and it is expected to enrich the choices of destinations for Hong Kong people heading north in the future.
