On the afternoon of June 28th, the opening ceremony of the dual exhibition of Chinese freelance artist Chen Ben and French expressionist artist Jean Michel, as well as the special exhibition of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, was held in Guangzhou. The theme of this special exhibition is "Harmony", and through representative works of two contemporary artists from China and France, it vividly showcases the splendid picture of the beauty and harmony of Chinese and French culture. The Consul General of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Belgium in Guangzhou, Ruben VERSMESSEN, Vice President of the French Chamber of Commerce in China, Benoit AUGER, Chairman of the Liwan District Artists Association, Li Changsong, artists Chen Ben and Jean Michel, as well as several cultural and artistic figures from both China and foreign countries attended the opening ceremony. Vice President of the Chinese French Chamber of Commerce, Ou Ruibin, and Chairman of the Liwan District Artists Association, Li Changsong, first extended a warm welcome to artists and friends from afar in his speech. He later stated that in the past 60 years, China and France have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in various fields, and cultural exchange is an important component of it. "Through this exhibition, we can not only enhance our deep friendship with each other, but also look forward to a better future of cultural exchange between China and France, and jointly promote the continuous development and growth of cultural exchange and cooperation between China and France." Li Changsong, Chairman of the Liwan District Artists Association, Chen Ben, and Jean Michel, two artists, also delivered speeches. Chen Ben shared with the guests that as early as the 1990s, he had held multiple exhibitions in Guangzhou. Since 2002, he has been studying in France every year, drawing inspiration from local museums and attempting to integrate the characteristics of Eastern and Western art into his works. "This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. Therefore, it is of great significance to hold a personal exhibition in Guangzhou, my hometown." Jean Michel said that this solo exhibition gathers important works created during his 15 years of living in China, which can be seen as a personal retrospective exhibition. "In this exhibition, you can see the evolution of my work style, and even the future direction of creation." He also specifically mentioned the important work Mount Huangshan, which was created for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France in 2014 and exhibited in this exhibition. Chinese freelance artist Chen Ben and French expressionist artist Jean Michel will hold this special exhibition from June 29th to July 12th. According to a reporter from Xinhua News Agency, the main theme of Chen Ben's exhibited works this time is "Chinese women throughout history.". The classic female images of various dynasties are vividly and vividly presented to the audience in his works, outlining the unique charm of Chinese women with each stroke. The two special exhibition works "Jade and Golden Friendship" and "Clemens and Golden Friendship" integrate elements of Chinese and French culture such as Sanxingdui and the Eiffel Tower, depicting the friendship between two Chinese and French women and expressing a beautiful vision that Sino French relations will continue to improve over time. Jean Michel said, "Although there are cultural differences between China and France, our emphasis on families and love for culture have broken cultural boundaries and made the friendship between China and France more firm, stable, and long-lasting."
