On the afternoon of June 28th, the opening ceremony of the dual exhibition of Chinese freelance artist Chen Ben and French expressionist artist Jean Michel, as well as the special exhibition of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, was held in Guangzhou. Vice President of the Chinese French Chamber of Commerce, Ou Ruibin, and Chairman of the Liwan District Artists Association, Li Changsong, first extended a warm welcome to artists and friends from afar in his speech. He later stated that in the past 60 years, China and France have achieved fruitful results in cooperation in various fields, and cultural exchange is an important component of it. Chen Ben shared with the guests that as early as the 1990s, he had held multiple exhibitions in Guangzhou. Since 2002, he has been studying in France every year, drawing inspiration from local museums and attempting to integrate the characteristics of Eastern and Western art into his works. "This year marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. Jean Michel said that this solo exhibition gathers important works created during his 15 years of living in China, which can be seen as a personal retrospective exhibition. He also specifically mentioned the important work Mount Huangshan, which was created for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France in 2014 and exhibited in this exhibition. Chinese freelance artist Chen Ben and French expressionist artist Jean Michel will hold this special exhibition from June 29th to July 12th.
