With decades of experience in kiwifruit cultivation, he has already become an expert in this field. As early as the 1980s, Li Shengli went up the mountain to search for wild kiwifruit seedlings and explored technical methods for grafting cultivation and field management. "At that time, planting kiwifruit was much harder than it is now, time-consuming and laborious, with low yields and sometimes only flowering without bearing fruit." Recalling his early experience of planting kiwifruit, Li Shengli was very emotional. "Nowadays, planting technology has advanced, and artificial pollination and advanced irrigation techniques have been introduced, resulting in a significant increase in yield. Some varieties can yield as high as 89000 kilograms per mu, while others can yield as low as 45000 kilograms per mu." Wang Xiao, an employee at the Qinghua Management Station of the Shitouhe Reservoir Irrigation Center in Shaanxi Province, calculated for the reporter: "Previously, during flood irrigation, 80 to 90 cubic meters of water were needed to irrigate one acre of land. After the introduction of sprinkler irrigation technology in 2018, only about 50 cubic meters of water were needed per acre of land. The water cost per acre of land can be saved by 13 yuan compared to the original amount. Kiwifruit prefers water, and generally requires 5 rounds of irrigation from spring irrigation to picking, which can save a lot of money in a year. Sprinkler irrigation can better control soil moisture and avoid these problems. Sprinkler irrigation technology can also achieve the integration of water and fertilizer.". "Farmers can add fertilizers to water, which can increase fertility while watering the land, without the need for separate fertilization, saving a lot of labor costs." Chen Hui, director of the Agricultural Industrialization Office in Meixian County, told reporters, "By improving technology, our integrated water and fertilizer system has now achieved single household control.
