On June 20, 2024, under the guidance of the Office of the Financial Committee of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, the 2024 "Golden Sheep Award" Financial Academic Exchange Conference was successfully held in Guangzhou, co hosted by China Financial Magazine, Guangzhou Financial Development Service Center, and Guangzhou Golden Sheep Financial Research Institute. It is reported that the annual financial academic exchange conference held during the Guangzhou Financial Fair is one of the series of academic brand activities of the "Golden Sheep Award", aiming to further expand the brand shaping, cultural traction, and financial support of the "Golden Sheep Award", fully leverage the "Golden Sheep Award" as an advanced financial cultural booster and a high-level financial cultural exchange platform, empower local financial innovation and high-quality development with culture, and help accelerate the construction of a strong financial country and city. Li Yang, Chairman of the Financial Book "Golden Sheep Award" Evaluation Committee, Chairman and Chief Economist of the National Finance and Development Laboratory, Director of the Academic Committee of Guangzhou Golden Sheep Financial Research Institute, and former Vice President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, stated that the "Golden Sheep Award", as the only remaining financial book award in China, has produced a perfect answer sheet after 12 years of unremitting efforts from all parties. It has become the most professional and authoritative financial book selection activity in the country, and the annual Golden Sheep Award selection has also become a financial and cultural event in China. Jiang Wanjin, member of the evaluation committee for the "Golden Sheep Award" for financial books and chairman of China Financial Publishing House Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech on "Twelve Years of Prosperity, Adhering to Integrity and Innovating towards the Future.". He stated that for the past 12 years, the "Golden Sheep Award" has been adhering to the strategy of high-quality products, adhering to the principle of long-term achievements and continuous development. The selection of books closely follows the major policies of the Party and the country's development. All previous award-winning books have reflected the "five major articles" of inclusive finance, technology finance, green finance, pension finance, and digital finance, which are of great significance for the popularization and education of financial knowledge for the general public. At the event, 11 representatives of the award-winning book authors of the Golden Sheep Award gave themed presentations on five major topics, including "Coordination and Cooperation between Fiscal and Monetary Policies," "Implementation Paths and Methods for Five Major Financial Articles in the Banking and Insurance Industry," "Effective Prevention and Resolution of Financial Risks, Maintenance of Financial Security and Stability," "Cultivation and Research of Chinese Financial Culture," and "Empowering High Quality Development with Digital Finance." Their speeches were brilliant and their ideas were unique, empowering the financial development and innovation in Guangzhou, Guangdong, and the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. Since its establishment in 2013, the "Golden Sheep Award" for financial books has had a total of 25 experts and scholars from financial, academic, and media institutions serve as judges. A total of 116 types (sets) and 150 excellent financial books have been selected, covering five categories: academic theoretical monographs, popular reading materials, practical operations, education and training textbooks, and dictionary reference books. Nearly 200 award-winning authors come from research institutions, universities, government departments, and the financial industry. The award-winning books only represent the highest level of domestic financial book publishing, reflecting the significant achievements of China's financial reform and development, and supporting the construction of China's financial independent knowledge system.
